JCC what is your favorite pasta shape and why

i like fun pastas like rotini, or those weird little wagon wheels, or the chef boyardee dinosaur shapes. but for actual cooking purposes, i've found that tagliatelle is a great go-to.

Cavatelli because I like it best. That's why!


Least faves: rotini/rotelli or farfalli

 

Fusilli -- mostly because it looks good uncooked and then cooked it holds all of the good flavor in its "spinnies"...

 

Maltagliati. It's like the pasta equivalent of a rescue dog.

 

I like the conchiglie (small shells). You get a little scoop of sauce in each one.

Wheels! But I usually get rotini because it's easier to work with by the slightest amount.

I'm a big fan of suicidi, feldspati, coccodrilli and alberi di natale. Yum!

 

Rotini, conchiglie and linguini. I'm very complex, so I require three favorites.

 

For some reason I always get stomcha cramps when I have feldspati, coccodrilli or alberi di nitale. However, suicidi is painless.

 

Rotini, lumaconi, and gemelli. They all hold sauce really well and I like fun shapes

 

I don't like stomcha. Not a big fan of stuffed pasta.

 

Orecchiette. It's got a nice combination of versatility (works with thin sauces, works with thick sauce, works with meat, etc.), fun shape, and readily enough available.
