What is your favorite Prequel theme?

Not surprised that BOTH is winning. But I think that's only because it is new. Try this poll again in about 3 years, and I expect you'll see something different

I believe a version of Qui-Gon's theme also plays in the funeral track in Episode I (but not in any of the versions in Episode III, for obvious reasons).

Well, I picked DOTF, but it's close.

Grievous' Theme is played twice on the soundtrack in "Star Wars and Revenge of the Sith" when Grievous makes his entrance, and in "Grievous Speaks to Lord Sidious" when, well, Grievous speaks to Sidious.

As for how many more times it is played in the film, I am not sure.

I do love his theme. I couldn't call it my favorite, but it's very catchy.

Oh, and I didn't vote yet. I just can't decide!

 

What's the Separatists' Theme? Is that what used to be called the Mystery Theme?

 

Yup. It's the quiet, mysterious horn piece from AOTC.

 

After some hard thinking, I've decided to go with the Love Theme. To be clear, I personally am not very fond of the concert arrangement of the love theme. But then again, I'm generally not a concert arrangement kind of guy.

But when Williams flexes the muscles of it, it's hard to beat. There's the two major statements of it in the Finale and Arena battle of AOTC, and some exquisite, smaller statements of it in ROTS.

I'm guessing Anakin's theme would have came close if it got more play and development in AOTC and ROTS.

 

The love theme from AOTC has been driving me insane, I just can't stop listening to it. The use of harp and horn is a perfect combo and when the lower strings take the beauty of the first section and make it darker, it just adds so much to it. It gives it a sense of movement, mystery, and secrecy. (2:26 on the track)

 

Across the Stars. It's too damn beautiful

Trade Federation March comes second, then DotF, Qui-Gon's Theme, Seperatist's Theme, Anakin's Theme, Battle of the Heroes, Shmi's Theme, Grievous' Theme and last is this "Other please specify Theme". Is that in RotS? I must have missed it. Who is that, anyway?

 

Greivous' theme is also in the movie briefly during the beginning of his confrontation w/ Obi-Wan on Utipau.

 

The Happy Senators theme wasn't listed, so I chose the Love Theme instead.

I knew better than to choose Battle of the Heroes; most people are picking it just because it's new and exciting right now, however in 2 years it'll all change.

Does Padme have a theme? I listen to the beginning of "Return to Tattooine" and a couple of other tracks (maybe "Padme and Anakin" or "The Meadow Picnic") from AotC, and "The Birth of the Twins and Padme's Destiny" from RotS, and I hear some very similar motifs with the xylophone (or is it bells?) and flutes. It actually sounds rather Harry Potter-ish. Might this be Padme's Theme?

 

Anakin's Theme is definitely the best in my humble opinion.

 

Battle Of The Heroes

 

My favorite is Anakins Betrayal, it is the most moving music during the saga. The scenes that occur during it are also very powerful (jedi Purge, Anakin facing the younglings).

 

I love Duel of the Fates and was so happy to hear it in the Yoda/Emperor confrontation, sadly it's not on the ROTS soundtrack...

I also love Across the Stars, comes second!

 

I am going to have to go with "Battle of the Heroes" - but really many of them are excellant.

 

I'm split between Duel of the Fates and Battle of the Heroes. I voted for DOTF since its been my favorite ever since TPM came out, but Heroes is edging its way to the very top

 

Battle of the Heroes is an instant classic and Qui-Gon's theme is excellent, but horribly underused. I have to go with Duel of the Fates.

 

DOTF isn't really a proper "theme" in my not-so-humble opinion, as it doesn't really match character or place or anything. Therefore, Qui-Gon's gets my vote.

 

Maybe DOTF is a theme that accompanies epic confrontations of Good vs. Evil?
