What is your Favorite SINGLE line in AOTC?

I love the way Ewan says that it is such a good quote.

 

There are several lines that forshadow what is to come and that are delivered perfectly. Their relevance to the whole story doesn't really sink in until you reflect on them - threads like this really help.

The most obvious is OB1's "you'll be the death of me."

But other good ones are:
"You're using her as bait!" (as he later would his daughter, Han, and Chewie).

"Dreams pass in time." (as we see Anakin's dream of becoming a Jedi literally fade with his mother's death and the tusken slaughter).

"Patience my friend. She will die." (echoes Palp's "and now, you will die" in EPVI)

And though it's not really a line, I really like Anakin's laughter when OB1 is pleading with him to pull up. It is somehow cocky and menacing at the same time.

I gotta go see this movie again -

 

"Why do I have a feeling that you are going to be the death of me?"

 

"You DONT need guidence Anakin. In time you will learn to trust your feelings, then you will be invincible."

 

I can't remember the exact wording but when Dooku tells Obi-wan it will be difficult to negotiate your release. Just the way dooku said it....awesome

I realize that many of you may REALLY be put off by lines such as Threepio's "This is such a drag" and "I'm beside myself!"

But I've got to tell you, my 4-, 5-, 7- and 8-year olds loved those lines. They laughed out loud (even the second time) and they walk around the house quoting those silly, campy lines.

The genius of Lucas is that he's created movies that strikes an incredible chord with fans both young and young-at-heart. He's included serious stuff (I wasn't strong enought to save you) and kiddie stuff.

How many of you were under ten years old when ANH came out and you just LOVED it when Han sails out of the sun(!?) to cover Luke at the battle of Yavin and then found deeper meaning to the movie as you grew up? (Okay, I still like that part too, but I think I've made my point.)

A great movie in the best tradition of SW.

"The shroud of the Dark side has fallen..begun this Clone War has" I'm not sure if that was the exact quote but it gave me chills especially when the Imperial March kicked in.

 

".....I hate them!" - This line was truly one of the most chilling lines in the entire saga, and of AOTC. Astonishing acting on the part of Hayden, as for the character aspect of this line, it shows Anakin's first, haunting descent into the Dark Side.

 

'Around the survivors, a perimeter create!'

 

"Bow-ba, is your father home?"

I just love the way Taun Wee says that

 

Oh, not good...

 

Favorite:

"And I want you to know before we die."

Dumb chuckler:

"In that case be _extra_ careful."

 

Dooku- "It is obvious that this contest can not be decided by our knowledge of the Force...but by our skills with a lightsaber."

That is the moment I realized Yoda was about to throw down...it was so cool! Also, Christopher Lee does a good job of delivering what would otherwise be a really campy piece of dialogue.

Most of my favorites are already listed, but there is at least one that seems to have been overlooked:

After Anakin says "Sorry, Master, I'd forgotten how much you hate flying." The response (and delivery) was great:
Obi: "I don't mind flying, but what you're doing is suicide!"

Threepio: "Die, Jedi!...Oh my, what am I saying?"

 

"Shoot her or something" was dissapointing because it was funny in the novel, but on screen the timing was completely wrong.


Best line (and I guess I'm alone on this one

In Palpatine's shaky squeeky voice,

"I will create a graa-aahnd ahh-hrmy of the rebublic" (the b's not a typo, it sounds more like him with it in).

 

Poggle the Lesser:

There are so many to choose from, but one of my favourites is "Lost a planet Master Obi-Wan has - how embarassing, how embarassing!"
For me it shows a return to the humanity and humor that were missing from Episode I.
