What is your favorite Star Wars film?

It has come to my attention that the old poll on this is:

a. outdated, created prior to AOTC

So here's a brand spankin' new one...

 

I loved Return of the Jedi. Attack of the Clones is awesome, but I decided to go with the good ol' ROTJ

 

I don't know if I'll ever be able to vote on this...

too hard to pick...

but I have high hopes for May 2005!

 

ROTJ. MY first favorite, and still my favorite.

 

ESB. And I'm talking the original version here, none of this new-fangled special edition nonsense.

A New Hope

 

I voted for Star Wars which Lucas renamed A New Hope in order to buy a private island or something.

I mean, when I saw these movies, nobody called them

Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back or
Star Wars: A New Hope

They were:

Star Wars
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

I don't see why Lucas had to change Star Wars' name in order to bring out The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. To me, it cheapened the whole Star Wars Universe. Yes, there was the original movie and the 2 sequels but everyone did think of it as a universe of Star Wars. But the blok didn't have to ruin it with the cheesy name.

Now, there's a poll . . . what name should be given to EP4????

 

I voted for AOTC for the action at the end and the great duel. Other than that I would have voted for ROTJ!

AOTC all the way!! The film that made me fall in love with Star Wars all over again...

 

WHAT?!?!?!? I can't vote for the holiday special? Oh, the humanity!

SeriouslyI really like ANH (by any name) because it's so real. Everyone was still exploring their characters and was still nervous about "Will this succeed?". The biggest problem I have with the PT is that it is expected that it will be a success so they just aren't trying quite as hard.

When the first SW movie came out it was called simply Star Wars. When the second SW movie came out it was called Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and by that time the first movie was called Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

 

I liked A New Hope.

Return of the Jedi. Great beginning, great ending. Attack of the Clones, a real close second.(AotC is the best, but RotJ is my favorite).

 

Return of the Jedi holds a special place for me since it's the first of the OT that I can remember watching in its original release. A New Hope is a very close second.

 

I would say empire strikes back but as a stand alone film anh is the best.

ROTJ is not only my favorite SW film but film ever and it may stay that way for some time.
