What is your favorite Star Wars theme?

Your favorite?

 

The Force Theme.

 

Luke's Theme - the Main Title Theme. It's what lured me into Star War's musical score in the first place.

 

It was a tough choice... but I'm going to go with the Imperial March. I've always loved it, and nothing beats the memory of driving around the parking lot with my friend before ROTS with the windows down and the Imperial March cranked up.

Luke's theme. It's the theme I find myself looking forward to most in any Star Wars soundtrack, be it Revenge of the Sith or Knights of the Old Republic, perhaps because of its rarity as of late. Luke's theme also figures into most of my favorite action cues.

 

Ben's theme. It works in so many different ways. It can be sad, action-packed, triumphant, and so many other things. It's incredible.



That and the Throne Room is just so damn cool.

 

Yey! Thanks GeneralKenobi. Finally my thread was posted. I have to say the Force theme. It is so emotional and it really made me love the Star Wars music.

 

I could listen to The Imperial March constantly.

 

The Force Theme is what Star Wars is all about, THE best theme. Everything else, no matter how good, comes second.

Other faves: Across The Stars, Duel of the Fates, Yoda's Theme, The Imperial March, The Sith Theme.

 

Vader's theme. I got made fun of constantly in first grade because I was humming the thing so much. Second favorite is Battle of the Heroes, third is Duel of the Fates, fourth is The Force Theme, and fifth is probably Across the Stars, though it has some competition from the Emperor's Theme and the Main Title.

 

I just can't get enough of 'Across the Stars', for whatever reason.

Luke & Leia is my all time favorite theme.

I'm still sticking to The Force theme.

 

I cannot believe that Luke & Leia isn't listed! That was a great piece!

But I voted for Princess Leia's theme, because it's very beautiful and I find myself listening to it all the time.

 

I love all the themes listed, plus others, of course. But the list is pretty good, and only makes a couple big omissions for me. The Force Theme is my favorite. To me, it bundles up the spirit of the whole saga quite nicely.

My order of preference:
1. Force Theme (Ben's/Obi-Wan's Theme)
2. Duel of the Fates (The theme of the prequel trilogy, in my opinion)
3. The Imperial March
4. Leia's Theme (I love the innocence)
5. Luke's Theme (Main Title) (I love how it's used to capture the spirit of adventure even in the PT)
6. Yoda's Theme
7. Han/Leia Love Theme
8. Across The Stars
9. Trade Federation Theme
10. Battle of the Heroes
11. Luke & Leia
12. Parade of the Ewoks

 

Here are my top 20. I really wanted to put the arena music from AOTC on here as a theme, but it just didn't fit right with the category. I mean by that standard I'd have to put the Battle of Hoth music in. I also considered the Bespin music that can almost be considered Lando's theme. But almost was the key word.

My favorite is the Force theme. As war_monger wrote, this theme is used in many different ways. It can be dramatic, slow or even slightly sinister as shown by the score of Revenge of the Sith.

I cannot recall a difference between the ANH Imperial theme and the Death Star Motif, so I got rid of the DS one.

They're completely different. The Imperial theme is the short motif for the stormtroopers and Darth Vader. Noteworthy appearances: "Imperial Attack," "Tales of a Jedi Knight," and "The Battle of Yavin" (some action statements of it). The Death Star motif is a simple four-note motif that accompanies shots of the Death Star, such as the very end of "Imperial Attack" and a minute into "Launch from the Fourth Moon."
