My fins are burning...
I switched my going-to-sleep "tranquility" music to Star Wars last night for the first time in ages.
Battle of the Heroes, The Asteroid Field and The Forest Battle
Those are some great tracks on the CDs, but what is your favorite of the recurring leitmotif themes themselves? The ones that appear again and again in different arrangements and forms?
I like the part in Confrontation with Dooku where Palpatine watches the Clone Army at the end of AOTC. Changes from Republic march to Imperial March.
The Beginning of Battle of Endor when the Rebel Alliance shows up at the Death Star and engages the Imperial Fleet.
The Battle of Hoth 38 seconds into the soundtrack leading up to the Imperial March part of it 52 seconds in.
The 2nd half of The Clash of Lightsabers. When Leia and the rest are trying to escape Cloud City.
The first 40 seconds of The Emperor Arrives.
Love Pledge and the Arena is good as well.
Again, those are moments in the various tracks. Those are not themes. The themes are the recurring bits that come up again and again in different forms. For Example, the Imperial March or the Force Theme.
The Force Theme
Across the Stars
The imperial march (especially the subtle versions of it in the prequels)
Jedi Temple March
Order 66 soundtrack
Battle of the heroes
Enter Lord Vader
Anakin's dark deeds
hologram binary sunset episode IV, imperial march episode V, across the stars episode II
When ranking the atrocities of mankind, the removal of Ewok Celebration from ROTJ is #3, right behind The Holocaust and Crystal Pepsi...
The Force Theme
It's gotta be the 2 cantina band songs, binary sunset, the force theme, anakin's dark deeds...
crap I love them all
I like how Yoda's theme and the Across the Stars themes tug on the heart strings. I love the composition of them. The subtleties of different instruments in those two at just the right places.
The Emperors theme is pretty fantastic too. It puts you in a certain place of mind to where you can almost feel the dark side yourself.
And I guess you wouldn't really call it a theme per se, but the Vader theme rendition repeated in "The Clash of Lightsabers" and "Anakin vs. Obi-Wan". I like the intensity of it, and was very happy to hear that again in ROTS.
Huh? It's a song all right. Here's the words.
"I love you
I really love you,
I really love you,
Yes, I do."
OK, I'm gonna be sick.
Yub Yub, forever!!!
I love Sith theme,The Force theme and Across the stars.
Imperial March & the Asteroid Field.
Across the Stars is one of my all time favorites. Another song I liked from the film is the one that played when Anakin marched on the Jedi Temple with the Clone Troopers.
1. Across the Stars- my favorite rendition is definitely Love Pledge and the Arena. That was all set to be my next figure skating music, but then I quit skating. Sad face.
2. Force theme- not sure which track it is, but there's a euphonium solo somewhere in RotS that is absolutely gorgeous.
3. Anakin vs. Obi-Wan- not really a theme, but absolutely brilliant. Actually did skate to that one.
4. Main titles- It's Star Wars music-ified. Enough said.
5. Imperial March- cliche, but the brass fanfares make me happy. Very, very happy.
Duel of Fates
So many to choose from. Probably a tossup between Anakin's Theme and Luke & Leia's theme. I always wondered why they didn't use that gorgeous piece for the birth of the twins....did they feel Leia's theme more recognizable?
Not just that, (although that's a good reason, Luke&Leia was barely used in Return), it's a more hopeful and optimistic theme, one that has direct continuity in ANH. Luke&Leia is a mature theme that only appears later and reflects the bittersweet aspect of their relationship, the deep understanding of their conection, a nostalgic reflection of their "love story"....
3. The Battle of Endor Part 2
2. Battle of the Heroes
1. Yoda's Theme/Jedi Order from TOR
Across the Stars is a beautiful and iconic Star Wars music peace. But I'd have to my post favorite SW Music piece would be "Battle if the Heroes.
The Force Theme.
