The entire thing is amazing but "Departure of Boba Fett" is pretty chilling.
Hey Thanks for the welcome. I can't wait to really read and post to the music boards. i have been enthralled with the star Wars music since that summer of '80, played those records over and over and over.
I had the double set also, with that great insert of pictures and the explanations from J Williams about each track. Very awesome. Wore out those records and later bought another album set just to have one in better condition.
I agree Dep of Boba Fett is chilling and good. didnt' it follow The Imp March or Asteroid Field. Love the placement on the albums.
My favorite track from The Empire Strikes Back is, and always will be, the statement of The Imperial March in the Carbon Freezing Sequence. The percussion....and the whole grand and bombastic nature of that particular cue is amazing each time.
I never found The Asteroid Field music all that appealing. I like it, don't get me wrong.
The other favorite is Yoda's Theme. How sweet, wise, and peacefull it sounds.
Rescue From Cloud City/Hyperspace is my favorite from ESB, especially when the TIE Fighters start chasing the Falcon.
it was hard for me.. espcally cause you put up 4 of my favroites excluding the imperial march..but i chose clash of the lightsabers.
Just remembering it gives me chills. John Williams has never topped the ESB soundtrack.
I have to say the Imperial March. I can only say the Imperial March.
The Imperial March.
Aboard The Executor, the best use of the Imperial March.
At least, until The Emperor Arrives.
The Rebel Fleet/End Title
Carbon Freeze, for sure. I love the music from right after Han is frozen and he looks at Lobot, and the music while Luke is following them through the hall. Great stuff.
The part where the Emperor's hologram sings, "I SING TO THE TREES".
Where does this take place?
I chose the Rebel fleet/Ending theme. That score id my favorite Star Wars score made. It sets uup ROTJ and it sounds beautiful the way Leia, Luke and the droids are watching the falcon leave and waiting for the time that they would see Han again.
I would have to say the whole damned thing. However, some highlights would include everything posted in the poll lol.
The Rebel Fleet/End Title - The best End Titles of the Saga.
'The Rebel Fleet-End Title', almost tied with 'Rescue From Cloud City-Hyperspace', is my favorite of the entire soundtrack. The music for that classic ending scene adds a lot to the experience and the end credits medley tops it all off perfectly.
I don't know about favorite, but "The Asteroid Field" is one that I could put on repeat for a while. It's bouncy and perilous in some parts, quick and sweeping in others. And whenever I hear it I just have to look out the window and imagine the Millennium Falcon soaring by. It's a wonderful feeling.
I also have to give props to "The Rebel Fleet/End Title". That whole scene is wonderful and the score helps gives hope to a seemingly hopeless ending to the second movement to the trilogy.
The End Titles track was spot on.
The Rebel Fleet. Although the visuals work in tandem here, dozens of Rebel ships gathering at the edge of galaxy is just plain epic however you score it.
I've always loved The Asteroid Field. So much that I decided to do [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdXiN2exioo]an arrangement[/link] of it.
Hope you enjoy it!
That's pretty damn cool.
