You didn't answer the 'band' part of your own question

station: Usually switch between Nova and Triple M

I can't believe anyone still listens to 2dayfm (aka. ADapalooza)

    band:
    modern; U2
    past; Beatles

Of the stations that you all probably know, Triple M I listen to most.
Of the ones you probably don't know, 99.3, 90.5, 89.7 just to name a few. Even ABC Classic FM and 102.5 are OK. I listen to these stations for jazz. It's not jazz all the time, so if it's not I'll switch between them. Jazz is my favourite music genre, followed by Rock, nothing heavy though.

Bands. The Whitlams, Hunters and Collectors, Midnight Oil, Crowded House. All great! All Aussie!

NEW FM up here. But I listen to 2HD on the weekends for the rugby league.

Metallica, Foo Fighters, Powderfinger, Led Zeppelin, Filter... the list goes on for bands.

Well I used to switch between Triple J and Triple M. Someone said something about JJJ going crap during my time away, but I haven't really listened to it since getting back, so I'm yet to decide for myself.

    As for bands:

Green Day, The Offspring (pre-Conspiracy, as there were a few good songs on Americana, despite Pretty Fly, etc.), Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Regurgitator, Area 7, and more.

Lach: East-side radio rules !!! (only the jazz though)

Wedge: Go Newcastle radio !! 2NUR is the way to go at certain times, but when I'm there I usually listen to NXFM - where every second song isn't Jimmy Barnes.

I don't listen to the radio much, sometimes East-side radio (B-side radio, I like to call it ;) ). I mostly listen to CD's really loud in my car.

    Bands:

Anything HARDCORE. Hardcore Goth/Metal (eg Cradle of Filth), Hardcore Rap (eg Gansta Nip), Hardcore Techno/Dance, anything as long as it's hardcore. Hardcore Country, even. BTW, I'm not being flaky or fronting - that's just what I like !!

Funnily enough, Jimmy Barnes was on NEW FM when I just ducked out. Their set list is a shocker and very easy to distinguish.

I'm one of those types wh followed merrick and rosso to nova, but for some reason they seem to be playing more pop music these days, so i'm often back on jjj.

But i'm still angry at jjj not plaing the system of a down live set on monday night, that sucks

1143 on the AM dial for the footy on the weekends. Usually from Midday to 10PM. But this year Ray Hadley is doing the show. Shame.

I guess I'll look back on this thread a bit.

2GB is the feed that I get up here, but I listen to 2HD for it. I'm not actually in Sydney, so it's just the simulcast. And Hadley is now the new presenter on 2GB, the entire cast from last year has been axed.

Yeah, Wedge, I had some friends who used to do a show called "Nasenbluten" on 2NUR. It was a hardcore techno radio show (Nastenbluten is also the name of a very cool band in Newwy and is German for nose bleed!)

And, Lach, I don't play any jazz instrument (if that's what you mean) but I really enjoy the music. I love music that is manic but somehow controlled. Very heavy stuff fits in that category, as does hip hop and rap (lots of sounds at once) and jazz, probably the most. I really like stuff like Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk. And besides, you just can't help tapping your feet !! :D

Usually Nova 969. Merric and Rosso are great, but Leah MacLeod's better. Mmm, Mara-licious... ;)

    EDIT: No fave band.

Do M&R still have all their old stuff that they had on JJJ, or did that become JJJ property once they left?

Still, I always like Adam & Will better.

Answering q1, I mostly listen to JJJ (morning show) and occasionally to ClassicFM and 2WS when I'm in the mood for that sort of thing. I enjoy JJJ because of their topic morning programs and their alternative music list (lots of Aussie stuff too!). Plus no ads!!!!! 2DayFM's morning crew are great but their teeny-bop pop tends to bug me. I prefer alternative stuff. And I love jazz but can never figure out what to listen to!

Bands: George. Fantastic Aussie band just breaking out. Plus I dabble in a lot of stuff from Dido to Groove Armada to Midnight Oil and back again.

    Current song? er.......
