    It seems like every time the Olympics comes around there is one personality that kind of dominates it for me, thus I end up looking forward to one set of events more than another, although I love nearly all of them.

    So this time around, it's swimming. Two words: Michael Phelps.

    Also, I have to say, since it is my favorite sport, period... basketball. Which isn't on this poll :(

    Olympic Boxing FTW. Britain have a very strong team this year, and hopefully they'll win a few golds between them. Besides that, it'll just be a pleasure to watch.

    Other - I prefer some of the niche sports - weightlifting, wrestling. I sometimes watch the swimming and diving, and I like the gymnastics that involve the pommel horse, vault and rings. But I can't stand watching the type of gymnastics where they run around with ribbons or balls. Can't see the point really.

    Some of the track and field sports are good as well (discus, hammer, pole vault). The running gets boring after awhile though.
