It has to be said: The Phantom Menace

pod race: how much longer do I have to suffer through this?!

Jar Jar: are you kidding me?

a 9 year old saves the day: mmmmmkay

Boss Nass: if he does that blubbering thing one more time...

But that doesn't mean it's irredeamable. I loved Liam Neeson's portrayal. The final duel was great. And Ewan McGreggor rocks my socks! :D

I know it's a sacrilege but I'm going to have to say ANH. It just doesn't have that appeal it used to have before the PT. Maybe if I watch III and IV back to back, then it may get some points back.

TPM. My order is ROTS, ROTJ, ESB, ANH, AOTC, TPM.

I just...really don't like the movie very much. And I used to hate AOTC, but it's grown on me. TPM...hasn't.

Attack of the Clones, by a long way.

I have a lot of stored venom for this film. It had years to improve on the mistakes of Phantom, but did it? No! It somehow managed to repeat the errors, while making a duller film!!! Plot? What plot? Romance? Please, don't make me ill! The music? With the exception of 'Across the Stars' (which, although it is a great theme, it is a simple recycle of both the Star Wars main theme and the theme from Hook) it is one of the most uninspired scores from Williams for years, not to mention the atrocious cutting and editing of the score.

But the film's greatest sin has to be giving Christopher Lee such a minor, two-bob role that anyone could have played. A sin repeated, unfortunately, by ROTS.

And C3P0?!?!?!? "I'm beside myself". "Oh, this is such a drag"

It's times like this that I wish the TOS allowed swearing. At least, swearing in reference to AOTC.

Sorry. Didn't realise I had that in me. [face_blush]

Well, first of all I love all the Star Wars movies. It's hard to pick my least favorite. I'm half tempted to pick Empire because no one else has and i've always considered it the least of the OT. In a lot of ways it is my least favorite, but if we ask me for any flaws in Empire i honestly can't name any.
However i can name quite a few flaws in the episode I and II, but still part of me prefers those movies.
    BAH!
I suppose episode II has the most flaws so i'll pick that one.

I agree with TBM. TPM had some annopying moments, but it totally redeemed itself with Qui-Gon Jinn... The final Duel... the nemodians (yes, i loved them :p), the introduction of the DROIDEKAS (Yay whoohoo!, all the new alien life... etc.

AOTC had similar annoying moments but was unable to redeem itself. Yoda Duel does it? Give me a break. Especially after ROTS. The AOTC end duels were just lame. Jango Fett was cool, though.

Oh, and Darth Maul > Dooku

Yeah, the redeeming feature of TPM for me is that it somehow managed to evoke the sense of wonder and vastness that the OT had. The Galaxy was an amazing place again. With AOTC it became... CGI and explosions and bouncing Yodas and oodles of enemy henchmen/ships/droids that we see once and never again.

The greatest thing about ROTS was the return to duels with speech! If the Dooku duel at the end of AOTC had at least the same amount of dialogue as the very short opening Dooku duel in ROTS it would have been so much better. Christopher Lee oozes villain while he isn't even onscreen! Use it! Granted, they still were too reliant on dueling at the speed of light, but it was a vast improvement.

    Exactly!

I also think TPM benefits from being a better made film from a technical point of view. Tighter editing, brilliant score, less green screen, a coherent plot, etc.

Oh, and Darth Maul > Dooku

    =D= =D= =D=

Revenge of the Sith for me.

I mean, Attack of the Clones was awful, but I was expecting that going in, so it wasn't as disappointing. Revenge of the Sith was even more awful, plus I had expected to enjoy it, so the disappointment was much worse.
