ST What is your level of TFA fandom?

I'd just like to get a better idea of the current demographic here.

 

So many options, but somehow none of them apply.

Describe your ideal option, then!

Mine would be "I've memorized the lines to the OT, but don't watch the prequels as much. Loved the Clone Wars and am enjoying Rebels. My wife won't let me have any toys."

 

Movie looks bad.

 

Lol, it looks bad huh? You must not have seen many movies than, because it does not look "bad". Not your thing? Quite possibly. Bad? What a ridiculous statement. Bloodrayne is a BAD movie.

 

But it's a poll... that's my point. You're going to end up with such a spread of answers and completely different viewpoints in people's posts, there won't be any poll-based conclusions to be drawn from it. I also thought some of the answers seemed a bit too geared towards "this vs. that" battles, but maybe that wasn't intentional. People do need to be careful to avoid those things or bashing in their responses, though.

Anyway, for me: I love all six movies; ANH and TESB are my favorites. I liked TCW and I also currently like Rebels. I don't get into the novels, comics, or games. And I am very excited about TFA and the ST, as well as the spin-offs.

 

there's no entire saga fan entry. including the shows and sequels.

 

Sorry...I wish there was a 'Star Wars Saga Fan" option....

Love Star Wars, it's my favorite franchise, but I'm not obsessive about it. I avoid debates about PT vs OT now; I enjoy the OT overall better, but I still love large chunks of the PT. I use to be into the old EU back in the 90s and early 00s during high school and college, but I've not stayed with it; however I definitely do see myself picking up both some legends and new EU material in the future. I am still a casual gamer and Battlefront (coupled with the announced FF VII remake) might be just enough for me to actually invest in a PS4.

Oh, and I've not watched a Star Wars film since ROTS in the theaters 10 years ago. Rewatching my favorite saga again in the lead up to TFA is going to be epic. I feel like a virgin...

 

Matrix option for me. Neo is going to really rip things up in Matrix 2!!! Oh, man, I got bumped off my AOL, must re-dial.

 

I agree that none really apply to me, they are too random and broad.

I think better options might have been something along these lines: (Sorry for the crappy titles, I'm to tired to be more creative)

Casual Fan - I've seen the movies, but favor others
Fan - I've seen all the movies, more than once. Can probably recite more than the average person.
Big Fan - I know most of the lines of the movies by heart, I've read some of the EU. I have some Star Wars paraphernalia in my house. I check a Star Wars message board.
Super Fan - I know the movies, let's just leave it at that. I've read most of the EU. I've been or really wanted to go to a Celebration. I frequent a Star Wars message board.
Mega Fan - I don't even need to watch the movies I know them so well. I've been to midnight premieres, I've cosplayed, I've gone to Celebration and been in overnight lines just to see a first glimpse. I have a LOT of Star Wars paraphernalia in my house. I have a lot of posts on a Star Wars message board.

Ahh but you're just shying away from the whole OT/PT options because you know they'll cause a sithstorm.

Thing is I think that's what is defining peoples take on TFA. We're split largely between those who think Star Wars was broken (by the prequels) and needs fixing and those who resent that sentiment (because they liked the prequels). Sure there are those who liked everything but JJ Abraham Lincoln ain't worried about them.

That's a more accurate set of options. Although, I feel compelled to point out that I wouldn't know why Casual Fan is an option on a SW website that you have to join in order to post. Casual Fans would probably not be bothered to go that far in the first place.

Full on Mega Fan! I could use a few more posts here, but I did join a long time ago and have stuck around regularly all that time.

Very excited for the TFA/ST! I'm just not going in with unrealistic expectations. Its going to be better than the prequels, but I don't think it'll be as good as the originals. If it is....then hell yeah!
