What kind of games should Lucasarts cough up in the future?

a new game like tie-fighter, only maybe with the njo
or more imperial stuff

 

i have been thinking latly that a SW based Freelancer/Privateer game would be cool.

you start off as a captain on a small ship, like a correllian corvette, and work your way up by doing missions and hauling cargo. eventually being able to upgrade you ship or buy a new one, and so on and so fourth. actually that would be more like Battlecruiser.

anyway, its been done before, but it needs to be done in Star Wars.

 

I think with the upcoming release of Battlefront, my needs when it comes to SW games have been met.

But, I would still like to see an Indiana Jones based version of Galactic Battlegrounds.

How about a good MMORPG?

 

I want a game covering all the important events of all six movies, but I'm afraid that would be too cliche. I mean, it's overdone. Wait, a minute... wouldn't that be Battlefront? Whaddya know, fans are excited about it and can't wait for it to be released and some have even gone as far as calling it the best SW game ever, without having played any of it! Whod've thought?

I'm another of those who'd like to see the X-Wing series revisited. Maybe update the original Battle of Yavin by using a spherical Death Star model instead of a flat surface as in the original X-Wing. Oh well, guess I'll have to settle for XWA with either the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade models or Darksaber's Ultimate Craft Pack. Maybe also wait for Jump to Lightspeed if I want PvP.

 

Except for the obvious jokes (prostitute Leia and the dialogue stuff) BountyHunter2999's trailer sounds pretty awesome to me!

I'd gladly wander Mos Eisley as Luke, Ben, Han, Chewie, Leia... whoever! All of them, even better!

That'd be a fulfillment of the true SW experience, I think.

(Obviously no hooker-bashing though. C'mon, it's Star Wars.)

I'd prefer an RPG exploration/quest style game featuring Indiana Jones (KOTOR style engine, but maybe with more twitchy combat).

 

Good idea, jp30, although I personally would build it on a more dynamic engine than KOTOR.

I think we've yet to see an Indy game that really let you BE INDY. RPG seems like the best way to get the broad range of experiences, but Indy is an adventurer and an action hero, and the game needs to rest on those fundamentals.

Something where you can drive, fight, possibly climb. Get these mechanics solid, then add...

A nice big range of characters to talk to. Meaningful conversations and interactions. Choose quests and small jobs and hunt artifacts across the world (so, several different cities and locales.) Talking with characters helps uncover clues for your quest (make friends, do "research," look up old Abner Ravenwood type guys.)

Also, move through the strata of society: Let's give Indy his white dinner jacket and let him cruise through the casino/nightclub, or hunt an ancient book in the ivy-covered libraries... etc.

Woo ladies!

A full-on Indy experience would get me excited again. Not necessarily just another Emperor's Tomb (the combat was fun, but got old after awhile.)

I'd like there to be a star wars game based on the sith war. You would be able to choose the sith or the jedi. This could work with a dynasty warriors style gameplay. At least in my opinion.

 

I just want a SW RPG style game that has Luke, Han and all the rest in it.

KOTR was great, but I could personally care less about Carth, Darth Revan, Mission, etc.

Give me the original SW cast.

 

I would love to see an action game based off of the Mandalorian's or an RPG set in the EU world.

 

An NJO game could be good- playing as a minor Jedi, perhaps? SbS, resistance on minor worlds...I can't think of anything else at the moment.

Plus if it was really good you could shoot Jacen.

 

i'd want another battlefront, but not anytime in the near future. 3-4 years minimum! LA needs to go into a jedi meditation and think about how to improve fully on battlefront 2.

 

They should do more FPS games like Republic Commando. Redo Bounty Hunter as an FPS. An Indy FPS would sell well.

 

Has anyone considered a Doom or Half-Life style game based in the Star Wars 'verse? Obviously the Empire is no stranger to atrocities (engineered Alien Diseases) and crimes against existence (Alderaan) - there must've been accidents too.

Say something went wrong on a research station in the Maw (or anywhere gloomy and mysterious) and the Empire had to send in an Elite squad of stormtroopers and scientists to work it all out. Or maybe the Rebellion sent Jedi Master Skywalker and Rogue Squadron in to have a look.

Along the way the virus mutates, turning animals into monsters and people/aliens into Zombies...

..and yes (Aragorn) I've heard of DarkForces, but that game was nothing compared to the intensity of Doom3. That's the style of game to which I'm referring. I was playing Doom3 and thinking the entire time, this would be great as a Rebellion or NewRepub era game.
