    Hello everyone!

I'd like to get to know you guys a little bit more.

And one way to get to know you is getting to know your music taste!

So, what kind of music do you like?

I basically like rock and pop. I like classic rock bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd. Also I like indie bands like The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines. And I like too female pop singers like Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift.

    What about you?

    Ska, rocksteady and roots reggae.

And hardcore. (of which I also played in a handful of bands when I was younger)

But, my favorite artist is somehow Billie Holiday.

    Cool, another music thread! [face_clown]

I like any songs that have a ukulele and/or a cowbell in them.

But seriously I love Fall Out Boy, but Uma Thurman is so overplayed on the radio that I change the station.

I like folk music. I do. And if you make fun of me I will garrote your fingers with the f strings from an autoharp.

Soundtrack music from Games, Films and TV.

I like music to have a context, so these are best, as they come with a ready-made context.

Rap/hip hop, 50's-60's era oldies, rock, film & television soundtracks, big beat (ie: The Chemical Brothers), and New Age instrumental music are above all else for me.

Classical, Ska, Punk, Classic Rock, anything Frank Zappa, anything Tom Waits, and other stuff.

The only things I can't stand are rap and talk radio.

90's grunge/alternative, classic rock, hard rock/metal and 80's music for the most part. Favorite bands of mine include The Smashing Pumpkins, The Doors, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Alice in Chains, Green Day, Soundgarden, and STP. I also have an unhealthy obsession with Katy Perry.

I listen to a little of everything. As an example, here are 4 songs that have been stuck in my head over the past 24 hours. (And there is always a song stuck in my head.)

Pretty much all kinds of different stuff. I've listened to country, but it isn't my cup of tea, but I'm familiar with it. I mostly listen to hard rock and metal. I listen to movie and television scores.
