    A book about Macos?

The ENT era dosent actually make Startrek fans warm and fuzzy.

And there is the odness of the MACOs them selves, Are they a seprate branch of the military? If not why would a non federation starfleet need a space version of the United States marine core? Would it not be simpler to have the varios states/countries who make up the unified Earth to tain their own marines in space? Or have some seperate marine core?

And in thr 2300's version where the TNG/DS9/VOY take place that stuff is handled by Start fleet security aka the gold shirts.

And Traviss works the Mando's in Star Wars and (Form what i heard) the Spartens in Halo center around a Unified culture or experince.

    Starfleet is the opposite.

Yes they have a Unified Idealism in the betterment of themselves and others, But a Unified outlook? No, not even close. And definatly not in the Star Trek EU.

Star Fleet makes it work anyway, and the Federation government as well, but their is not monolithic federation experince.
