I'm pretty excited about the line-up of movies this fall and early winter season. Moreso, in fact, than I was for the past summer's line-up. Which movie are you most looking forward to?
Definitely The Hobbit, although I'm planning to take my sons to that Hotel Transylvania movie next weekend; it looks interesting.
Cloud Atlas! I've been excited about this one since I first read rumors about it. I haven't been this excited about seeing a new movie since 2005. The Hobbit doesn't even come close. The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy ended up being a disappointment. I have really enjoyed every Wachowski film so far and Run Lola Run by Tykwer. My favorite directors combined with my second favorite novel plus that epic first trailer all adds up to very high expectations. The least impressive aspect to the production is the cast. But the cast is a great one. So yeah, I think you're missing out if you're not going to see this movie. The Hobbit part 1 of 3: no. James Bond formula sequel #178: no. The second movie about Lincoln this year: no. Monster movie sequel for average12 year old girls: no. les Mis movie version 36: no. Zemekis and Goodman are favs of mine but Flight looks boring: no. Ang Lee does alot of things I like visually but the stories in his films are too stuck in the past for me: no Pi for me. I don't like Jamie Foxx and Tarantino has lost my interest so Django: no. CLOUD ATLAS -Interesting visually -Interesting story -Good cast -Complete story -Most different than what has come to theatres before -Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
The Hobbit: AUJ (even though it's a winter release, not fall ). But I'm also really looking forward to Django Unchained, Lincoln, and Skyfall, from that list. Not on the list that I'm looking forward to are Wreck-It Ralph, Argo, and The Man with the Iron Fists.
I don't understand the hype over Wreck-It Ralph. The previews reminded me of the Toy Story scene in which all the rejected fast-food toys went into group therapy.
do you like video games? also i forgot about the man with the iron fists. really looking forward to that one too.
Huh, is it possible to change your vote? I voted Hobbit but then I thought about it some more and I think I'm looking forward to Skyfall more.
The Hobbit just barely ahead of Skyfall. Lincoln is u there too, especially given Daniel Day Lewis, though I'd have preferred if it used the David Herbert Donald biography as the primary source material.
It's between Skyfall and Cloud Atlas for me. Edit: I voted for Skyfall, but that's partly for sentimental reasons; I think Cloud Atlas will be the more memorable movie, though.
I'd say Hobbit and Les Mis are more winter movies, but they're my #1 and #2. I'll wait fr Hotel Transelvania to hit DVD (yes, I'm 5). But movies have gotten so expensive that unless it looks amazing, I'm not going. I wasted too much on movies this summer. And by that I mean I paid $10 to see Snow White and the Huntsman and will never get those two hours of my life back.
Lincoln. History major, but never delved deep into his presidency until I read Team of Rivals. Trailer looked great, I'll be there opening night.
