    Um... "sw" what?

Seriously, I'm dying to post that mad-libs story, it's high-larious!

Oh, pretty pleaaaase with sugar on top post it here!!! I'm dying to read it too! Or at least put it up on your website... I'll even admit that Luleå is better than Umeå and that Koti Pizza are the best. :p

Or I could go after my scissors. Cutting through dreadlocks... is like cutting through warm butter. Muahahahahaaa!!! [face_devil]

Now that would be cheating now, wouldn't it!

I'll even admit that Luleå is better than Umeå

    Man, I'm easily swayed ...
Okay, but I'll post it in a new thread, alright?

Or I could go after my scissors. Cutting through dreadlocks... is like cutting through warm butter.

Eeeeeeeeehhhh! *runs away screaming Homer Simpson style*

What, we don?t have snow?! And what do you mean, "not that south"? It is possible to shoot movies up north, you know? And you have to remember that not even Finse looks like Hoth does in the movie ... those mountains we see in the background - matte paintings!

The pictures featured in the Insider looked more like Hoth then any Swedish place I've seen. : ) Anyway I admit that this wouldn't affect their choice very much since they wanted snow and low mountains and we do have that in Sweden as well, yes. But as I said not that south. I believe the nearest mountain range like that i Sweden would be somewhere in Härjedalen or even higher up. The longer trip from London the more expensive.

Have you ever heard about the little region called Dalarna? We have great mountains too.

Don't you think it's too much forest in Dalarna to resemble Hoth?

    Me:
I got a call from a friend of mine today, and he asked me if I wanted to go to Helsinki this Sunday!
That's so weird ... yesterday, I told you I've never been to Helsinki, and today, I got this call!
There's just one problem ... I have a deadline this Monday, and if I go, I won't get back to Stockholm until Tuesday ...

No Helsinki for me ... too much work ... :(

Talked to my mother today, by the way ... and lo and behold, I've actually been to Helsinki! I was eight years old at the time, but I don't recall a thing! Must've been quite boring ... or perhaps I was just way too busy listening to my Smurf tapes ("Saft, saft, hallonsaft!") ... apparently, those little blue fellas drove my parents nuts that summer ... :)

And I've been to Tampere as well ... on the same trip.

Well, Norway, Sweden ... it's not much of a difference, is it?
The Star Wars movies have been shot in Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Australia, so I doubt distance had anything to do with their choice of location.
And as you probably know, the cast and crew had quite some trouble getting from Oslo to Finse (and they certainly lost a few bucks when Harrison got snowed in).

BTW, I found this post in rec.arts.sf.starwars from August 1994 ... it's not proof per se, but the guy who wrote it did have access to The Empire Strikes Back Notebook:

they were scouting locations for Hoth in Sweden, but they choose Norway because the Swedish army wouldn't help with the transportations. The Norwegian army, NATO, did.

Erk That's it you are banned for not knowing enough about the most beautiful province of Sweden.

I agree they probably were scouting locations for hoth in both sweden and norway and probably places elsewhere to. Though even if the swedish army would also have helped with the transportation I still think Finse would have been their primary choice.

I believe the word you are looking for is teh.

    :p
Seriously, we selfish norwegians really know how to brag about that Hoth thing, but mr Lucas could as easily have chosen any other country for Hoth. Why not Iceland? Much closer to the US, and with bigger glaciers.

Old georgie may still use Iceland for any molten scenes in Ep3.

Btw, I am probably going to go to Island (Still under debate are Sweden and Denmark) and Norway next year!
