ST What of Luke's GREEN lightsaber?

He's got to open all the cans of Exile Spam with something.

 

I assume Luke will have his green saber. However, I've always wanted to see a white saber in a live action film, and I think it would be epic if Luke is now wielding a white blade to represent the balance he has achieved within himself. But that's just me. It's been my experience over the years that most people don't share my love of the white saber.

 

Well, I assume he's still got it.

 

I like that! Diamond-white would be awesome.

 

I hope Luke uses both Green and Blue sabers in episode 8 that'd be so bad a**. One can dream.

At least we've got Ahsoka sporting the white sabers... but hey, we have no idea what colors any ST Jedi might choose. There might be some Knights of Ren in later films that use different colors as well, likely acquiring old sabers from before the more dogmatic days of the late Jedi Order (seeing how Kylo's looks a bit slapdash, I'm guessing the Knights aren't big on creating their own sabers...they could have a totally different hallmark weapon)

Don't forget thirdly... the sound Luke's green saber makes! One of my favorite Star Wars sound effects.

He probably still has the green saber (just in case), btw. he won't loose a saber again, he will still be reminded at that "incident" just by looking at his prostetic hand....

 

I think this could be cool, but I wonder if it works in bright areas like a desert.

Remember the big deal that Obi-Wan made with Anakin, when the apprentice lost his saber?

"This weapon is your life!"

So yes I'm pretty sure Luke still has his. I mean Yoda and Palpatine had plenty of skills, but even they had one just in case. I suspect it's the same for Skywalker.

Now will we see him use it? I think it's likely that we will, but when?

 

I think it would work just fine. It would look just like any other saber only white. Maybe a silver-white.

 

Green is a cooler lightsaber color than blue so he better be carrying it!

 

There's no reason for him NOT to. So many things have to change; they should take nostalgia where they can get it. Having Luke lose his lightsaber off-screen would be a silly waste of an opportunity to give us a 'WOW' moment. Some of us wanted to cry already at the sight of the Falcon in the trailer. When I see Luke, that will be my moment, and I hope he has his ROTJ saber with him.

 

Saint did you see the leaked picture of Luke in the white-ish robes?

My mom isn't a big Star Wars fan, but I sent her the shot and she said "oh my gosh is that Mark Hamill?"

I said yes ma'am it sure is

 

Maybe Luke doesn't need to use it anymore and has it safely tucked away. Or encased in glass and sitting on his mantle, so every day he can reflect on what a badass he is.

 

Luke will still have it, that's a certainty. And we'll see it in action at the end of TFA

I assume Luke held onto it after Endor and it traveled with him as he trained others to become Jedi. He should still have it when he attacks Kylo Ren in TFA.
