Is it a cross between Storm Trooper & Imperial Officers like Tarkin & Peitt? It seems the Trooper class is based on Clone Troopers, but with the Imperial Agents is hard to tell what it is based on.
Mandalorians come from the EU and TOR/KOTOR is full of them. I guess they're doing the same with Imperial Agents but I've never encountered that type since I'm not a big comic book reader and didn't take a big interest in the lore.
You can also think of the Imperial Agent as James Bond. He's a spy, he's got the high tech gadgetry and fancy starship and I bet at some point he'll be pumping some girl for information.
I was planning on making a female Agent and with gender reversal your comment just became unacceptable.
It's been mentioned somewhere that the Imperial Agent is supposed to give someone a roll and power akin to Grand Moff Tarkin and any of the non-stromtrooper minions we saw in the movies- a character who's true power comes not from weaponry or mystic capabilities, but instead from the proper application of intelligence and efficient stealth. We're supposed to see how a character could stand toe-to-toe with a Dark Lord while still being extremely vulnerable and human.
And from what I've seen so far in the beta, his storyline is brilliant. Very different from your run-of-the-mill questing.
You can believe that all you want. Making Of TESB makes it pretty clear that Boba was never "just another bounty hunter".
What does it say? I've never seen it and I'm genuinely interested. By 'just another bounty hunter' obviously he was a cut above, his capture of Solo proves that when all others failed. What I should have said was that his being a mandalorian wasn't established until after the movies were out. I think. I made that post over a year ago so I can't remember
lol. Sorry, I hate it when people do that to me. Boba went through a number of design/backstory changes-from a sort of super stormtrooper, to a 'supersoldier' that may have inspired the stormtroopers, to being described as a Mandalorian in the TESB novel. Whether the author made that term up or took it from the script (I lean towards the second option, as the TESB novel is the one that sticks closest to the script it's based on), Boba's been a Mandalorian since he appeared.
Heh, no problem. Thanks for the info, I was worried it was some EU author's desire to make their pet favourite character that extra bit special (which is all too common these days)
To be precise, he was described as "wearing the armour of a group of evil warriors that were defeated by the Jedi in the Clone Wars". While that became "the Mandalorians" it was left vague as to whether Boba had been one, or just somehow obtained the suit.
Based on Mara Jade, Luke's wife, most likely. Also, there's an "Agent of the Empire" series set betweeb Episode 3 and Episode 4 right now. Kol Skywalker's ex-wife, Morrigan Corde, was also an Imperial agent and very popular (Kol was one of Luke's great-grandsons),
