One of the things we never mention on this board is writers we'd like to see working on a Star Wars project. We've had Kevin Rubio, Paul Dini, and Katie Lucas write episodes, as well as Henry Gilroy of the EU as story supervisor.

What would people think about someone like Traviss or Zahn writing for the Clone Wars?

On a broader scope, what other writers could have fun with this story? I love Paul Dini, but I find him to be a little over credited for the success of the DCAU. I wouldn't mind seeing a script by Bruce Timm, Eric Radomski or James Tucker from those cartoons.

I would also love to see Joss Whedon's dialogue in the Star Wars universe. Joss has been hard on Star Wars before, but he provided great commentary on the Star Wars: Legacy Revealed documentary on History Channel.

I'll just say it: I want a Kevin Smith Clone Wars script. We've already had Seth Green voicing a character (coming up soon). When are we getting Silent Bob?

I want to see more unhappy endings and more Confederate victories. I'd be more realistic. The recent episode, Defenders of Peace, gave me an idea of an episode when all of the droids attacked the village. I'd like to see an episode where some new Jedi gets defeated and then the droids go and raze the village that he was trying to defend and kill all of the villagers.

I would LOVE it if Siri Tachi made an appearance, but seeing as she hasn't been featured in anything that's not by Jude Watson, I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen...

I'd love to see a 2 or 3 part episode that flashes back to Dooku teaching Qui-Gon - perhaps an adventure that lays down some trax for a CW event - to give some background to Dooku. Yeah - that'd kill. Especially if they got Liam Neeson back (I think he'd do something small like that). Heck, throw in some serious Mace Windu & get Sam "Sure, I'll Do That!" Jackson back too :)Give it to Paul Dini & let it rock!

    More Paul Dini.
Traviss... perhaps. Zahn... no. His style is too different.

Joss Whedon can stay the heck away from SW thank you very much.

    Kevin Smith? No thanks.

I'd like to see both Damon Lindelof (Lost) and Brian K. Vaughan (Y: the last man) take a shot at an episode, though.

Personally, I'd rather see neither. Traviss doesn't understand the Jedi and Zahn writes Star Wars too close to military sci-fi, imo.

I'd be interested in seeing a Joss episode, but I wonder how well his style would fit within the Clone Wars as a whole.

If Red State proves that he's more versatile than I think, perhaps. Of course, I haven't read his runs on Green Arrow and Daredevil, so maybe there's already evidence that he is.

I gave up on Kevin Smith after Clerks 2. And Joss is over-credited for Buffy (google Marti Noxon and David Greenwalt for proof). Besides, he hasn't done anything good in the last... what, 5 year. He can't get a movie off the ground and his new stuff looks terrible. The Buffy comic, for instance, is a mess to follow. Plus, his style doesn't work for SW. He'll pull an Alien 4 and put Wal-Mart references in! Yuck.

Well, those were just suggestions to get the ball rolling.

Kevin Smith, I think would be on the same level as Rubio. Does Kevin Rubio's style really fit Clone Wars?

I don't need to google Marti. Listen to any interview with any of his writers or producers, and they all rave about Joss. He had his fingers in every script on all those shows.

You are calling Whedon overrated because there were other writers on his shows, but endorse Paul Dini? Pot, kettle, black. No term is more offensively wrong than "Diniverse."

I would love to see a flashback episode. One that is pre Episode I perhaps set during Stark Hyperspace Wars and see Qui-Gon (guest star Liam Neeson if possible) fight along side his friend Plo Koon and his former Jedi Master/Council Member Tyvokka - or perhaps see 2 pairs fighting along side on a particular mission Dooku/Qui-Gon and Tyvokka/Plo Koon. One of these scenarios would be a great rare opportunity of seeing more of Qui-Gon, a Wookie Jedi Master and more Plo Koon (which Dave would love no doubt). Also it'd be great to see a flashback when Dooku was a Jedi Master - showing why his fall/leave to the darkside is a tragic loss to the Jedi and how close of a friend he was to Yoda, Mace, Plo Koon and other Jedi Council members.

This would make it all the more impactful should we (hopefully) see a Dooku vs Jedi Council member duel (whether it'd be Plo, Mace, Kit, or any other). Although I think Yoda/Mace/Plo would be more impactful because of the connection.

But definately, the odd flashback would be great for this. Long running shows generally sometimes have the odd flashback.

I definitely agree about flashbacks to things we haven't seen before, perhaps even flashback EPISODES like you suggested. Though they might focus more on character histories rather than EU occasions. Still, the Stark Hyperspace Wars were, before the battle of Naboo, THE biggest conflict in the galaxy at that point, so who knows. And besides, we've got plenty of veterans from that time. XD

And if my name and posts didn't already give it away, yes. Anything involving Plo Koon would be sweetness, but also involving some of the older characters that you've mentioned (Yoda, Mace, Dooku, etc.). And if we get Liam Neeson back to voice Qui-Gon for those appearances, well...That flashback would be the most powerful force in the galaxy. I suggest we use it. [face_devil]

To be fair, I DO have some ideas on flashbacks and other things related to what would be nice to see in the show...which aren't related to Plo Koon...[face_laugh]
-the Dark Woman, who trained Ki-Adi-Mundi and A'Sharad Hett
-Speaking of, A'Sharad Hett, K'kruhk and even master Zao (blind Veknoid who makes Force Soup) would make for awesome characters, though I hope a Clone Wars Whiphid's arms aren't as thin as a Kerkoidian's (see General Whorm Loathsom)
-Flashbacks to other characters to elaborate their character traits. Saesee Tiin had his master Omo Bouri, and tried to contact his spirit. It might also be nice to see Eeth Koth, and maybe compare him with Agen Kolar.
-Come to think of it...we hardly know anything about Agen, do we?:p
-ARC TROOPERS! DEPLOY! Though technically, the same applies to specialist troopers as well.
-Tol Skorr, Dooku's other Dark Side Acolyte. He's not given much development in the comics other than being a gruff and violent lapdog who hates Quinlan Vos, but even then, he's fairly skilled sometimes. Just as the show is trying to set up Asajj and Grievous to be more menacing and deeper villains, it would be the perfect chance to show the specific strengths and traits of this underused character
-Would be a sweet shout-out to the fans if they had all three 'pick a Jedi to appear' characters (Voolvif Monn, Foul Moudama, and Roron Corobb, or the wolf man, kazoo yeti, and Ithorian) teaming up in one episode.

    Those are some nice ideas.

I'm also with you on Agen Kolar - we know almost nothing about him due to the fact that Eeth Koth wasn't supposed to die, but he did because the actor who replaced him didn't look anything like the one who portrayed Eeth Koth - so they killed him off and replaced him with the Agen Kolar character. With that, it's pretty flexible what they could do with him. Perhaps they could even during TCW explain why he went from a green lightsaber in Episode II AOTC to a blue one in Episode III ROTS...something trivial, but perhaps he lost it in a cool way during a duel or during some mission.

Tiin himself, is supposedly an awesome pilot - some claim the best one outside of Anakin himself, so perhaps that could be demonstrated in some episodes. Also, i would mind seeing the "awesome 4-some" (Windu/Fisto/Tiin/Kolar) on a mission or two kicking ass or coming up against Dooku, Ventress or Grievous themselves, showing us why Mace felt so comfortable taking them with him to face Palpatine, despite Anakin's warnings. From what we've seen of Fisto in "Lair of Grievous", we can already see why he was confident with him. Now for the other two.

I also like the idea of seeing Jedi like Mace, Kit, Tiin or Kolar meeting with Chancellor Palpatine during some meeting - it gives this funny feeling to see them talking in a seeming friendly manner to the man who will ultimately kill them. Kind of like the way Aayla Secura saved Commander Bly in "Defenders of Peace" - sweet twist of irony. Heck, we even saw it with Plo claiming how he valued the clone's life so much despite later being gunned down from behind by them.

Yes. Develop the friendship between Bail and Padme... add some resonance to his adoption of Leia. I can imagine a line from Padme about how Alderaan feels like "a second home" to her. That would be sweet.

Plus, I know we just had our pacifism arc, but it might be interesting to explore Alderaan's peaceful, unarmed status during the Clone Wars... or did it perhaps come about as a result of the war? Interesting possibilities.

I only like Joss because of Firefly/Serenity and Dr. Horrible. Buffy and Angel just don't appeal to me.

I still wish we could see a Jerec episode, but I know that's never going to happen. :p

    Meh.
But fine... I'll revise. Since that he hasn't done anything good. Like, his comics stink. And I don't buy his whole feminist-guy bit for one second. Marti Noxon deserves credit for bringing that angle into Buffy, he is just riding it to make cash and hopefully a bit of longevity.

    But I digress.

Anyway, Ron Moore and Mark Verheiden (or really any of the writers from Battlestar Galactica) should take a shot at writing for TCW. And Bryan Fuller, too. His talents are wasted now that he's back at Heroes.
