My gf is a little curious about SW but has never really seen the films, and was wondering which order to show them in. Do I start with Episode I or Episode IV?

Im thinking 'A New Hope' but not sure.

4,5,6 then 1,2,3. I like the OT more, but come on you gotta have some respect for the PT. Because without them SW wouldn't have very much hype these days. And we would lose a whole generation of fans, that wouldn't bother in watching the OT,because they wouldn't know what Star Wars is.

I-) You could skip 5. If it wasn't for Yoda training Luke the whole episode could just be omitted. The "I'm your father" bit could be shoved in at the beginning of 6. Basically you saved about 2 hours.

ESB is the only thing in the universe which is more over-rated than Boba Fett.

    (that's not a good thing)

ESB is the best film ever!! :D

I agree with most, watch the OT first then the PT but also make sure you get her to watch the original Clone Wars cartoon TV series because quite frankly that's the only good thing to come out of the PT.

    heh heh.

If we all thought the same thing, I don't think the forums would be celebrating its 11th anniversary!

I wouldn't advise skipping ESB seeing as it is arguably the greatest movie ever. Vader is at his best and the Rebels get a well deserved ass-whooping.

And I don't agree that the OT wouldn't be as hyped up without the PT. The PT damaged Star Wars' reputation, it was was better off before the PT was made.

The main reason to show the OT first is because all the suprises such as the Vader revelation, Luke & Leia being related etc, will still be suprising to a Star Wars noob. If they see the PT first they'll know all that before they watch the OT.
