What parts of the EU were used in the PT?

Okay, we all know the difference between the EU (expanded universe) and what is regarded canon. Some will say that all EU is based, at some point, on events and concepts from the saga. However there are examples of the other way round:

*Coruscant: the name Coruscant is IIRC correctly first being mentioned in the Thrawn Trilogy as being a planet filled with buildings.

*Kashyyyk: also first mentioned in the Thrawn trilogy as a planet with huge trees where wookies lived in.

I was wondering if there were other examples of these kind of EU-concepts that have been used in the PT.

 

Wasn't Kashyyk in Holiday Special? Maybe it wasn't named until later... How about Aayla Secura? She began her life as an EU character IIRC.

 

Quinlan Vos's name and story was created in the EU, right?

 

Senator Chi Eekway's species, the Wroona, was originally from the EU.

 

wasn't the general look of Kashyyyk created by a concept painting for RotJ?
Don't know about the name, though, but something makes me think Zahn didn't invent that one.

The stories on Ansion and Cato Neimoidia were written because they knew they would be mentioned in the movies, right?
Same with Tarful in Republic Commando?

 

Quinlan Vos and Aayla Secura were from the EU.
Coruscant, Kashyyyk and most of the other stuff were made up by GL.

AFAIK GL took the name Coruscant from the Zahn books. I think the more specific details on it was already in the early scripts for the first movie. Off topic trivia: In the original ANH script, the imperial planet went under the name of Alderaan, while what is now known as Alderaan was called Ogana Major.

 

...and in the ROTJ drafts, the Imperial capital was called Had Abaddon.
AFAIK, Zahn had discussions with Lucas when he wrote the Thrawn trilogy. I don't think he made up the name Coruscant.

Older than that. There's a Ralph M. painting that goes back to the late 70s.

And Luke was originally going to live on Utupau.

I was of the understanding that GL gave Zahn the explanation of what the mystery capital would be like, and Zahn put a name to that description.

 

Wasn't Darth Maul's double bladed lightsaber based on Exar Kun's saber in the comics?

 

There was also Anakin's scar that he got from a fight with Ventress....
