Posthumous band being one that doesn't exist anymore for any reason.

Mine would be Jeff Buckley. His voice was a thing of beauty and his control of it amazing. While most seem to find his cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallalujah to be his crowning achievement, I find Grace to be his best. I can't even begin to explain the joy it fills my heart with every time I hear it. [face_love]

Can we count people who are no longer involved in the industry as a band?

Because I wish Will Smith would start doing that thing again where he sings the theme song for his movie that year. Personally, I think this was probably the critical element missing in the success of Welcome to Earth.

Yes. And think of the incredible amounts of people from their generation that never got a chance to see them since they stopped touring at the height of their popularity.

I don't think I'd want to see the Beatles in their 70s. Look at the Stones...
    Mercury, same thing...
But Zappa would still be kicking ass.

i was actually thinking of the beatles in terms of when they were in their prime and actually performing, or at least when they were still a band, or even when they were all still alive. but i'm going to see paul friday and i couldn't be more excited. i can't even imagine if they were all still alive, even in their 70s that would be amazing to see.

and people always want to compare the beatles to the stones, but it's not a good comparison at all. the stones have always been awful for the most part.

My brother and his best friend, who were in high school at the time, were holding moments of silence for several weeks after he died.

Mine would be the Beatles. And yeah, Michael Jackson when he was still black; Thriller was the first album I ever owned.
