I would say that would be the most definable shot of ROTS - No doubts there, and I was stunned when I first saw it...To me, that was the moment I have been waiting to see ever since I was a child -- That moment, right there, got it for me!

As for the whole trilogy, I'd say the most iconic picture wasn't actually a frame of the film itself, but from the set photographs that is mostly seen in cheesy posters like this one:

TPM: Palpatine's ever-so-small smile when Amidala says that she will return 2 naboo.
AOTC:Wen Mace spins his saber around n chops of Jango's head.
ROTS: Palpatine on his podium afta forming the Empire with his hands up.

When I think of the PT, I picture Naboo. I don't know why.

TPM - Makes me think of Maul, but the sort of 'image' of TPM is young Anakin on Tatooine.

AOTC - Makes me think of Obi-Wan and Anakin on Coruscant. Clone troopers at the end on Coruscant are the iconic image here, that or the Geonosis clone battle.

ROTS - Makes me thing of Anakin on Grievous' ship. No idea why. Iconic image would probably be Darth Vader rising.

    TPM-Maul igniting his saber
AOTC- Anakin on the speeder looking very Vaderesque, Yoda and his lighsaber
ROTS- Anything from the Duel, and Kenobi's superman pose

BTW i dont remember any of the Shots of the duel posted in this thread can someone tell me where there at.

My favorite moment from the entire pt is when the hanger doors in theed open and reveal maul staning there eyes closed; his eyes snap open right as duel of the fates kicks in and the entire mini army of padme jump back in shock and fear....

There is a real sense of history in this scene as well, as we get the sense that one era ends and a darker one begins...

Basically the sith have revealed themselves openly for the first time after 1000 years. Jedi and Sith prepare to clash after 1000+ years.

The following dialogue is cool as well,

    Qui-Gon: "We'll handle this..."

Padme : "We'll take the long way."

(Yes I know maul and qui-gon tangoed on tattoine briefly, but that was more of an assassination attempt that a real reveal, and/or a real duel).

Darth Maul decloaking, or Vader screaming "NOOOOO" ok maybe not the most popular but could be the most recognizable.

I think it's gotta be Yoda posing with a saber. Either that or Yoda reflecting lightning.

As for just RotS, it's gotta be that lock-up between Anakin and Obi-Wan.

I agree with what many people have already said: Darth Maul igniting his lightsaber in the hangar from TPM or Yoda igniting his saber from AOTC. Both of them are personal favorites of mine.

I'm going to agree with the guy who said the bottom image of the DVD cover and the Anakin casting a Vader shadow.
