Oceania What quirks/oddities/strange habits do you have?

Life is pretty much routine. Mostly, we do the same things as each other, day after day (eat, sleep, flatulate etc). But everyone does it slightly different from the next.

What are some of the odd things that you do? Or strange ways that you undertake perfectly ordinary tasks?

One of mine is the way that I have my coffee. If it has any frothy milk up the top, I sprinkle the sugar all over it before pouring the rest in, then eat it off the top with a spoon. (MMmmm... Wants latte)...

 

I bite my fingernails,

I always tear the ringpull of my cans and put it in the can after i've drank it's contents.

I buy flowers every friday for the missus on the way home from work

I only buy cereal with a gift or gimmick to it. (at the moment it's Crispix for the Star Wars stickers)

I chew the end of my pen

I use the word "tiger" excessively

I'm sure I can think of more!

I crack/pop/whatever you want to call it bones. My elbows, wrists, back, fingers, neck, knees... Pretty much everything at some stage during the day. But in my defense, if I don't do it they start to hurt.

Whenever someone is hugging me I always go up on my toes. I don't know why.

what a strange era that was. Marilyn Manson had just started to get some attention and high school was clearly divided into pink and black!

 

Hmmm...what are my quirks...


I will automatically chew on paperclips once I take them off documents, then I put them in my drawer and never touch them again!

I refuse to leave the house without putting on eyeliner. I can't do it anymore. I can look like a craterface or liek I haven't slept in years, but I put on eyeliner and BAM! I'm good to go.

I can't sit with my back to a door, window or crowd of people. Just can't do it. What if an assassin comes in behind me?

I rub my bottom lip on the right hand side. Especially when I'm nervous or stressed.

I will only put down a book once I have finished the page. I can't do it.

Also, if I see words written somewhere just out of my line of sight, I feel compelled to move adn read them. Obssessively compulsively. Must read the words. No matter what. I will actually get a bit weird if I don't.

I guess I've seen more episodes than you then.

I always peel my alcoholic beverage labels. Only if they are alcoholic.
I can't eat ice cream fast, it takes me ages.
I can slurp up a milkshake in less than 30 seconds.

I can't think of anything else..

 

I eat fast actually- I'm always the first cleaning up the table when everyone's halfway there!

 

Speaking of obssessive compulsivity... I *have* to wash my hands if I've touched something that might be germ-ridden. If I can't go and wash my hands I'll keep my hands kind of away from my sides til I can find a tap somewhere. I also start to feel a bit weird, a bit freaked out, if I have to walk around for a while with unclean hands.

What quirks/oddities/strange habits do I have?

I rub my nose when I'm nervous (at times I've made it bleed) - it's a nervous habit I have.

Like things to be clean - can't stand it when people make a mess.

Quote lines from movies alot (got a good memery for it).

Speaking in German and singing a Chinese song from Jackie Chan movie Police Story 2 and I don't know what it means.

Singing "Rule Brittania, Britannia rule the waves."

That's about it.

 

I find myself whistling that a lot... Catchy tune

 

Hmm... the only oddity that I have is running my hands along walls as I walk. I like to feel where I'm going, you know?

 

That's a cool on Boogie! In fact, I'm gonna stela it for a short story I'm writing...prepare to be somewhat immortalised!


Another oddity I was told I have...when I have take away coffee, I suck all the foam out through the little mouth hole, but I take the lid off to drink the coffee.

 

Tip:
As I've mentioned, the foam tastes much better if you sprinkle sugar on it first.
