All the rage in Hollywood these days is to reboot & remake films/franchises... some make sense, others don't. But, there's enough "sacred" films & franchises out there that would cause massive & multiple ragequakes should they tapped to be remade/rebooted (straight up remake/reboot, not something that looks & smells like the original, but titled & plotted differently). What would set you off?!

After they remade Casablanca nothing would surprise me anymore, let alone enrage me. [face_sigh]

EDIT: Looks like I had my wires crossed. There was rumours of a sequel going into production late last year. Do belated, fraudulent sequels count as remakes?

    Back to the Future.

Though if you want to play loose and easy with definitions, one could argue that the released film was already a remake....

Normally remakes don't bother me a whole lot, the originals are still there and just as valid. I would be livid if anyone touched BTTF though. So many parts of that movie are iconic to the 80's, namely the DeLorean.

Sure, since they would shamelessly siphoning off material from the original, especially if there's a large gap in between the films.

Star Wars OT. How could they possibly make it any better? IMO it's not possible.

Actually, there have been several. I have a soft spot for Barbed Wire.

As for your, question, I think your opinion of view on the Prequel Trilogy might answer that.

    The Princess Bride.

You are allowed to have movies LIKE The Princess Bride (see: Stardust), but THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.

I'll blow up the Internet if they try to remake Back to the Future.

I'll have a lesser reaction but still be mad as hell if they try to remake Top Gun, A Few Good Men, The Princess Bride, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the Star Wars OT, the Indiana Jones trilogy or American Pie.

Yeah, just leave my movies alone.

The Blu-Ray had some footage of Stoltz and it's eerie. He doesn't do a bad job but he plays it with a much more serious tone. Here's a comparison video of the two.

Seems like an odd choice to have there. Sure, it's a niiiiiiiiiiice & entertaining picture, and it was the film of a certain generation (I suppose), but an ultra all time classic? Debatable.

Well technically they did do a Ferris Bueller TV series around 1991 which co - starred a then unknown actress by the name of Jennifer Aniston...

I'll be ticked as hell if Warner Bros, ever gets that Joss-less Buffy reboot they'd been planning to do off the ground.

A good thing about Star Wars is that they can just keep going forever with time jumps and never need a true reboot, just like Star Tr-- oh.

This but I would be irked if someone thought they could remake a semi-autobiographical film like Amarcord.
