Right at this very moment, I'm giving a downloaded copy of Ennio Morricone's "The Thing" soundtrack a test-drive.

With 'Rocky Balboa' coming out, I've been listening to various 'Rocky' cuts, especially Vince DiCola's work in 'Rocky IV'.

Speaking of Rocky, I'm listening to "Rocky Balboa: The Best Of Rocky". Which features more Bill Conti's score.

I've been meaning to pick that up... Does it have the 'Rocky Balboa' version of 'Gonna fly now' on it?

You guys should check out Alan Silvestri, I find him really amazing!

He has done the Polar Express Suite, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Practical Magic...all of which i love.

His stuff also includes The Bodyguard, The Abyss, Back to the Futures, and a bunch more.

You're right, Alan Silvestri is quite good, but, unfortunately, he does not seem to get enough work. I'd still like to hear his take on Pirates of the Caribbean...

Currently listening to Mozart's Requiem Mass -- Sir Neville Marriner and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.

Not a film score, but a score nonetheless and an absolutely breathtaking hour's worth of music!

Seconded. The Mummy Returns was one of my favorite action scores of the last decade and I would have loved to hear his version of a high seas adventure score in the same vein.

Currently listening to a lot of Blood Diamond. Somewhat unremarkable action music, but the main melody and ethnic flavor don't disappoint.

If you like that ethnic flavor and haven't heard Zimmer's Tears of the Sun, you might want to pick it up. Overall it's not a remarkable score, but the last two tracks alone are worth the price of the CD.

Currently listening to The Empire Strikes Back. It's probably been close to six or so months since I've listened to a SW score, so it seemed like an appropriate time to bring this one out.

I finally picked up Air Force One by Jerry Goldsmith. From my first listen it seems as if Patrick Doyle might be channeling Goldsmith's spirit in his score to Eragon.

Currently listening to Danny Elfman's Charlotte's Web

I cannont describe how disappointed I am with this score. It's not bad (outside some of the blatant quotes from Corpse Bride), but there's nothing really special about it. It doesn't hold my attention at all. I honestly think this the first time I've ever been really disappointed by Elfman. I suppose everyone has their off days.

I think I'll go listen to Serenada Schizophrana instead.

I 100% agree. Elfman really dropped the ball with this one. Completely uninspired and unmemorable.

Since getting it, I've listened to it all the way through maybe twice.

Some songs on the 4 harry potter movie soundtracks.

    Rocky 4 - Training Montage.
Rocky 4 - I can't remember the name, but it is played basically during the fight, around the middle of it when Rocky comes back. I stop listening to the part when the song sounds like a trumpet and drums like a bad guy theme. But I still like it.

Absolutely. I love how he weaves the Wild West theme into the 3 "Train" cues. And the End Title is the best of the three films.
