Hell yes dude! I'm going to revive my Black Flag collection. Babes has been in rotation for a while though personally, I prefer L7 to Babes in Toyland but either way it is good stuff. Ministry has always been a mainstay as well but their recent stuff, not so good.

I've got old school Misfits in the head right now. Hollywooooooooood Bab-O-Lon!

The new Flogging Molly album, Float.

And speaking of Ministry, Al's actually going to retire the band after the current tour and the final stop is Saturday, May 10th in Chicago at the HOB. I'll be there....

One of their members died last year, so I guess the magic is gone for them.

Ministry has always been Al Jourgensen and (until a few years ago) Paul Barker. Various other band members have joined/left/died on an almost annual basis since 1984, reaching an almost Spinal Tap level of regularity in the late 90s.

The golden age of Industrial music (with Chicago as its Mecca) has been gone for well over a decade, but I guess this is the final nail in the coffin. Though Jorgenson forms the framework of the band, Ministry without Barker is like a ship without a rudder. I can't imagine, however, that their final shows will be anything less than badass. Anyone not familiar with the band owes it to themselves to look up some of their videos from 88-92 to see where Trent Reznor got his sound and Rob Zombie got his look.

(nothin' against Rob Zombie's music, but damned if the guy didn't spend the 90s looking like he was wearing an Al Jourgensen Halloween costume)

(I too enjoy She & Him--Peng, you're an obsessive stalker of Zooey Deschanel, right? You gotta hear them. She's the lead singer. It makes me feel funny in my pants.)

Apparently they sent this out to radio stations themselves and had only just mastered the track last week. Pretty cool new world Trent is forging.
