It's weird, the more Nickelback I see in this thread, the more I want to listen to the Descendents. I can't imagine why...

For the bored... Jamaican Music History 101: Ska was Jamaica's original national music, which was slowed down to create Rocksteady, which itself was slowed down to become Reggae. In the earliest days of this music scene, people living in poverty became ocernight stars if they owned DJ equipment and could provide local music at dance halls. Well, because it was poverty and money was involved, rivalries turned ugly between DJs and their followers. Rival DJs would send crew of dance hall crashers, or "Rude Boys", as the term originated to dances to upset the crowd and it resulted in violent fights, stabbings, and general chaos on the dancefloor.

Several of the music scene's stars began recording songs directly admonishing these rudies/dancehall crashers, withthe intent of making as many "hits" played as possible anti-rude boy. Alton Eliis fired the opening salvo with Dance Crasher, which became a massive Ska hit. I own multiple copies of the original 45. Most are rather beat up and one even has blood stains from an altercation which probably took place right at the turntable. That is the history behind these lyrics. The reference to Bunny Grant is that he was, at the time, a major champ in pro boxing who had come from the slums of Jamaica.

Oh Dance Crasher. Dance Crasher, oh no, no, no.
Don't break it up. Please don't make a fuss.
Don't use a knife to take another fella's life.
You'll be sorry. You'll be so sorry.
Let me tell you: There's a death sentence.
You won't have a chance. It's got to be your last dance.

Oh Dance Crasher. Dance Crasher, oh no, no, no.
Don't break it up. Please don't make a fuss.
Go to a gym. Get yourself in trim.
Be a ring fighter, instead of a dance crasher.
You'll be a gentleman. You can be a champion like Mr. Bunny Grant.

Don't break it up. Please, don't make a fuss.
Go to a gym. Get yourself in trim.
Be a ring fighter... a prize fighter... instead of a dance crasher.
You'll be a gentleman. You can be a champion like Mr. Bunny Grant.
Oh dance crasher. No dance crasher.
You'll be a gentleman. You can be a champion like Mr. Bunny Grant.

I do not understand your confusion on the matter... it certainly makes perfect sense to me.

I want to be stereotyped. I want to be classified...
