Eurythmics, for some reason, is a similar artist to ABBA (the biggest stretch of relationships to me)
ABBA's big hit was Dancing Queen (love that song)
Pain of Salvation's Disco Queen can't help but make you think of Dancing Queen.

It would have never naturally worked its way to Pain of Salvation, but any excuse to put up one of their songs is a good one for me. So I cheated.

Ugh, Kat; now she was a gimmick. Annoying as hell. I'd like to think she was the female equivalent of the "posers" that CSFH were mocking in that video. I'd seen Vas around a lot at that time and had no idea she was in CSFH. Very nice. Glad she's still screaming in Hanzel und Gretyl.

I could counter with Wendy O. Williams, but the late, great W.O.W. is generally not safe for work, so instead I'll move past gimmicks for great heavy noise. Once again, 13. Their guitarist Liz has been in Electric Wizard for 15 years now, but EW do not have the groove 13 did and Alicia just killed it vocal-wise.

I'll admit that I only skim the edges of cookie monster metal mainly because I love vocal melody/harmony, so I'll go with one a *safe* one here.

LOL. I grew up on classic rock, funk and Judas Priest, so I can dig vocal harmonies. Perhaps I am a reformed Cookie Monster, though barely.

To wit about harmonies, this Flock of Seagulls hit has been rolling around in my brain for days (and I had no idea that Jennifer Connelly was actually roller skating in the clip! Boo about that ending though...)

I grew up on R&B/Funk early on, prog thereafter, hit with the new wave synth thereafter, wandered aimlessly in pop for a bit until I finally found my love - metal guitar. It took some time to reopen my past loves outside of metal, but there is no doubt that metal is at my core. As a friend reminded me outta high school, one does not live on bread alone.

Now I have to like anything that has Jennifer Connelly in it. Particularly that movie. My first serious girlfriend looked quite a bit like her. And not just the face. In particular, the Career Opportunities version of her. Didn't know that while we were going out as I hadn't seen Career Opportunities yet. The first thing I had to check were the credits. I'll admit she essentially ended it (mostly by moving). Not that I didn't try to keep it going. Who wouldn't?

But if I'm going to talk about one of my favorite metal female vocalists (if not my favorite), then it would have to be Skin

That's not metal? Well, Skunk Anansie were all over the map. But listen to that voice, especially in the chorus.
