what was Obi wan thinking right before he jumped out of the window in AOTC

Obi-Wan's thoughts - "It is my duty as a Jedi to catch that assassin droid"

My thoughts - "GAWD, he looked DAMN SEXY doing that!!!"

 

Obi-Wan: What the **** am I doing!?!?!?!?!?!?!

 

Kenobi wasn't thinking. He was reacting to what he saw. Did he go overboard? No, not really, but it was still a wild thing to do.

 

This window didn't seem nearly as high a few minutes ago.

 

"Just this once, I wish I wasnt a Jedi!"

 

He wasn't. What sane individual would jump out the window knowing that if he missed the droid, he would dive to his death.

 

But hes a powerful Jedi Knight! He could have saved himself if needed to. The Force can do a whole lot!

I actually think this fits perfectly with his character as portrayed in the prequels.

"We came to rescue you."
"Good job!"

"No loose wire jokes."
"Did I say anything?"
"He's trying!"
"I didn't say anything!"

He's always so amusingly "oh, crap..."-like. But he sucks it up and just does it. With a smile on his face.

 

Kenobi's thoughts: "Padme does live on the ground floor right?"

 

He could have saved himself if needed to. The Force can do a whole lot

Mace couln't when Palpy threw him out the window and he was more powerful than Kenobi. And don't tell me he was alreay dead when he was flying because Palpy had not been frying him long enough.

 

I think is says in the novel (I dont know cause I didnt read it) that Mace was dead before he hit the ground. So Master Windu is resting in peice....or peices.

Always pictured it to be: Oh no you don't you little bugger! Followed by: I am so bloody stupid...

As for jumping out to avoid Anakin/Padme talk, can't blame him. And as for Mace... a wise man on this board whose name I have forgotten said: "It wasn't the fall that killed him, it was the twenty speeders that hit him on the way down."

 

It's not the novel that says Mace was dead before he hit the ground; it just says "he fell forever."

But Mace's TOS entry refers to his "lifeless" body hitting somewhere, so yes, Mace was dead, but I would assume it was the very last burst of power - y'know, the one that sent him flying across the street - that finally did him in.

Do note how long he seemed to resist it, though. Unless he was just paralyzed... but I like to think he wasn't.
