Read Courtship of Princess Leia in 1995. Luckily by then there were already a bunch of others out there to continue. I read them all in like a month. Also by luck my cousin happened to own almost all of them already so I didn't even have to buy them, just borrow them.

Heir to the Empire was my first, but I was more interested in Star Trek at the time. I took a break for a few years before finally coming to my senses. I then proceeded to go out and read the Jedi Academy Trilogy, and have been buying Star Wars ever since. Long live the Force!!

I heard Darksaber... then I read Shield of Lies. Drove me insane and I didn't read any EU for two years after that.

It was either Tales of the Bounty Hunters or Shadows of the Empire. Whichever one wasn't first was second.

The very first one I ever read was Heir to the Empire, but it was The Rising Force, The Dark Rival, and Vector Prime that really got me hooked on the EU.
