Here's a little discussion to get you feeling nostalgic:

What was the first ever video game you played? It doesn't matter what platform, it can even be Mattel's hanheld Football game.

Basically, let's look back, and see how video games have changed over the years. (And how much better they are!! ;) )

The original Commander Keen on DOS.

Man, I played all 6 of the Commander Keens; those games are so incredibly full of nostalgia for me.

Combat on the Atari 2600 before you needed to call it a 2600 - it was just "the Atari".

Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt for the NES.

Me and my dad always hated that dog that laughed at you if you missed in Duck Hunt.

mario bros. and duck hunt, i think. I love those games. I prefer SNES and NES (and GBA of course, though most of my GBA games are just ports of SNES games, actually all but one) to PS2 and computer games.

First ever game I can recall would be Tutankarmen (spelling?) on a Vic20 (like an early Commodore64)

I don't remember the first one, but it was definitely an Atari game. My parents had already had one before I was born, so that was my first exposure to video games. Probably PITFALL or MISSILE COMMAND.

Me and my dad always hated that dog that laughed at you if you missed in Duck Hunt.

Us, too. My dad would always say, "Shoot that little bastard." lol!

i cant remember, but i suspect it was Dam busters..........a c64 game where you were a plane, that looked like a white rectangle, from which you dropped smaller white rectangles on a dam, that had a gun that shot white squares at you.........i played that for hours, once i had altered the code to give me thousands of lives

I loved SPYHUNTER. My local theater arcade still has the original one, too, and I play it all the time when I'm there. Sometimes I'll go an hour before the show just so I can spend all my leftover money on it.

My first console was the NES and played my first game on it. My uncle gave it to me and I was 4 so I had no idea on how to hook it up [image=http://gamecubicle.com/images/save/buddyicon/buddy-friggin.gif]

But once I got started (like others) I played the Mario/Duck Hunkt Combo game. [image=http://gamecubicle.com/images/save/buddyicon/buddy-firemario.gif] Mario was fun! :D [image=http://gamecubicle.com/images/save/buddyicon/buddymarioclimb.gif]

But Duck Hunt got frustraighting when this happened. [image=http://gamecubicle.com/images/save/buddyicon/duckhunt.gif] BUT I GOT MY REVENGE! [face_devil]

Ok, I just say Commander Keen, even though it isn't technically speaking the first game I played...

    First game ever: Pong
First arcade game: Pac-Man, if I remember correctly... or maybe Asteroids.
First arcade game I fell in love with: Tron [face_love]

There's a really, really old arcade game I played once as a kid... it didn't have a video screen, it just had warplanes coming at you and you shot at them. I don't know a better way to describe an arcade game that has a screen, but not a video screen.

Nah, only kidding, I was'nt knocking about back then.

First ever game was Head over Heels on the Spectrum ZX81.
Awesome theme tune, and a masterpiece of Co-op play.
