Amph What was the last book you bought?

I've a copy of The Wise Man's Fear - ye gods, what a tome! Between this and Crippled God, this has been one of the biggest book onslaughts for me in years.

 

I know its HEAVY! 990 pgs. I dont know what TCG total is.

Ugh Im so pissed! I gotta wait another for The Crippled God to come in my local store....

 

Last New book: The Mockingjay (The Hunger Games series is way awesome)

Last Used book: Heir to the Empire

Still haven't had a chance to read either one yet, but that will change in a few days! haha

Lol I was so pissed I forgot some words appearently....

I gotta wait another week for it to come in. It wasnt on the truck so I had my buddy go ahead and order it for me so it ll be on the truck for next Wens.

 

No I haven't read this one yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Oh, I bet you'll love it!! That entire trilogy is some of the best of the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

 

There are others I like better... but the Thrawn Trilogy is the series that most closely resembles the original SW trilogy, IMO. In good ways, not the "superweapon of the day" style of KJA

 

I only recently started collecting and reading some of the Star Wars books, although I've been a huge fan of the films and games for years. I enjoy reading a lot and should have picked these up a long time ago.
I actually am working on a Star Wars novel, and would really like to submit it to Lucas when it's done. But we'll see; it's not really that easy.

Unfortunately, they don't accept submissions for SW books/etc - they approach the authors first. Though you may want to post your story as fanfic

 

Yeah, I've figured. I'm not counting on anything. But I'm still gonna write it, and it's gonna be awesome!

 

Stopped by BAM this afternoon, got my paperback copies of Backlash, Chaosbound (the 8th Runelords book), and Arms-Commander (the 16th Recluce book... which I just reread in hardback last week)

Those three books forced me to move books around on 9 different shelves. No, I'm not kidding.

 

Complicaetd system?

 

Not really. Most of that was moving a book from the end of one shelf to the beginning of the next shelf, or vice versa... resulting in the whole other row sliding over and forcing another book to the next row.

 

Finally got started on the first couple of chapters of Heir to the Empire. So far so good! Really enjoy it.

 

Would anyone like to volunteer to be my personal punching bag for 2 mins?

I had to order The Crippled God just now on Amazon since my promised copy from a week ago wasnt on the truck today so what does that mean....wait another week. To hell with that. I had my kids with me so maintianed my father persona. lol plus it wasnt that girls fault. Poor thing I could tell she didnt want to tell me that it wasnt in, I guess I had a look on my face.

I ordered a bunch of stuff off Amazon lately, including 5 Modesitt books I didn't have yet (almost caught up in that regard) and Iron Dawn by Matt Stover. Looking forward to those

 

I got Tales of the South, The Return of the Black Company, and The Many Deaths of the Black Company, which are omnibus editions of 2/3 books each. I also got Caine Black Knife and then bought Blade of Tyshalle used.

I'm thinking about Iron Dawn R...J. You'll have to let us know what you think of it.
