+1. Never read Consider Phlebas, but I have The Player of Games from the same series, and it's awesome.

Requiem for the Toledo Express. It's a book about the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald by the only living member of the design team.

It's all packed into three monstrous books. How is it compared to the show? How is it in general?

Picked up The Ancient Curse by Valerio Massimo Manfredi and Doctor Who: The Gallifrey Chronicles by Lance Parkin yesterday. Both were on a charity book display in a local shop.

That's not bad. The two paperbacks I bought from the charity display were £1 each. At that price you're not really bothered if they aren't up to par. Here regular paperbacks go for around £7.99 and higher.

Over here it's a good $12 - $15 or so for regular paperback. Your Book Depository site offers free postage, which is a very nice inducement to order from the UK for the more specialist or hard-to-find stuff. :D

I order a lot from Amazon UK for the discount and I get free shipping if I order enough. Works for me! With hardcovers averaging £20 I'll take any discount I can get on those. I'd say the bulk of the HCs I order are SW. (Kenobi will be the next one.)

For myself, apart from comics, Skagboys by Irvine Welsh.

(Most recent purchases were gifts for my missus - the box-set of ASOIAF and the collections which contain the 'Dunk & Egg' short stories set in Westeros - which, of course, I get to read as well)

Next purchase for myself will be Rinzler's The Making of Return of the Jedi, followed by The Fat Lady Sang, by Robert Evans.
