    Skyfall, aka Bond 23

It was a solid movie with good acting performances, although I felt the end was a little out of character it did a fine job of balancing Daniel Craig's grittier Bond with aspects of what made the franchise popular and entertaining originally.

I just saw it too. Great suspense and drama, with some good humor thrown in the mix. Affleck, Arkin and Cranston were great, as were most the other main actors.

Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, I'll be perfectly honest and say I have no idea what really happened. Besides the violence and revenge plot I didn't understand why Van Damme's Luc character turned into a bad guy now.

Cloud Atlas: Pretty good overall. It's basically like watching 5 or 6 different shorter films (of varying genres) inter-cut with one another. In a way, this is almost (but not quite) the film I wished The Fountain was going to be (with the added bonus of being both enjoyable and not awful).

The makeup work to make the actors look like different people, races and genders is generally effective (and a little amusing on occasion) and is pretty impressive overall (especially when one considers how even "simple" old age makeup looks horrible 99% of the in film & TV).

(the Leprechaun demon was a bit random and unexplained, though)

Unknown (2006). Not the Liam Neeson one.

4 out of 5, because of a weak first act, but still highly recommended.

It was certainly accomplished, but I came away with a feeling of wtf?
And the Cloud Atlas symphony wasn't that awesome, in my opinion. It was beautiful, but not worth all that fuss, IMO - not extraordinary.
