What was the point of the Loud, Obnoxious, Alarm in ESB?

    They could have easily cut that and made it much easier on my ears... Anyway I've neveer heard anyone discuss it here, it just seems kinda dumb and pointless.

    Well do you think an ice cream truck rolling through the halls playings its jingle would of alerted the people of Bespin easier?

    That's kinda the point of alarms -- to be loud and grab your attention.

    What would you prefer? Some nice classical music and a calm announcement?

    "Excuse me, the management of this military installation would like to inform you of your impending doom. Imperial troops have just breached the premesis. Please remember to take all you belongings with you as you evacuate. Watch the low overhead on the exit door. Have a nice day."

    Kinda defeats the purpose.

    [face_laugh] A voice proclaming "MIND THE GAP...er...Imperial Stormtroopers!" would not have been that usefull, too!
