Like several others I'm guessing one of the big things left lingering will be virtually everything to do with Snoke. I'm thinking we'll get a glimpse of him, understand that he's the puppet master, but the history and background will left for the later films to get into. I'm guessing the same will go for a lot of lore surrounding the Knights of Ren and Luke's journey since RotJ.
