ST What Will ILM Work On First?

Interesting question. They probably have already begun on certain sequences. Especially those that are mostly CG (like the opening battle in ROTS).
I hope we get some 'wow' moments from ILM. Not just 'thunder and lighting' overload, like Transformers, but also 'magical' like the OT.

 

That's pretty much what I think, they're already working on the movie way before principal photography had started, now is just a matter of mixing the raw footage with all vfx elements they need.

So is John back as VFX Supervisor?

 

They probably started on digital assets first. Environments, ships etc...

 

The first thing ILM will work on will be force lightening emanating from Luke's beard.

 

Wish I could be a fly on the wall at Lucasfilm right now!

 

First thing will be Jar Jar Binks Jr.

 

Erm...who knows?

 

My guess is JJ had the opening scroll thought out long ago and ILM has already completed it and moved on to other sequences they knew they needed before filming ever began - ie modeling out most of the ships, planetoids etc, starting any space scenes involving those ships, planetoids etc.

 

Age of Ultron.

 

Pretty sure ILM started working on the effects like more then a year ago.

 

Are they past the storybooking phase?
