Just for fun, imagine a MS directed Star Wars film, or dare I say it, a trilogy.

What would it look like, in your opinion?

The Cantina scene would have been 45 minutes long... with no band playing... and just Han and ObiWan having a discussion over drinks for 3 quarters of an hour without any soundtrack.

"You beat him with a fist? He'll come back with a blaster. You beat him with a blaster? He'll come back with a double-bladed lightsaber. And if you beat him with a double-bladed lightsaber, you better kill him. Cause he'll keep coming back and back until one of you is a Force Ghost."

While his films can be engaging, it just wouldn't be Star Wars, at all. There's quite a distinction between his films and the science/fantasy of Star Wars. I don't think he'd be right for it. Maybe he would surprise us, but I just don't feel it.

It would be about Bounty Hunters and the Hutts, and we would have more scenes like the deaths of the Lars's.... and more curseing.

I own both, I know. But it's just such a tough call to make. Imagining him behind Star Wars, I can barely conceive what he might do with it. I simply can't conceive of such a vision, not that I mean it would be bad. But it's just so different from his work

I'm glad JJ is doing it simply because of the "feel" in Super8.

That's fine, I just simply didn't feel Super 8, I'm sure my complaints would be split between the script, but the film didn't really engage on a cinematic level. But, cinema is in the eyes of the beholder.

No chance, Tarantino's soundtracks are awesome. Would certainly be interesting with a SW score by the RZA.

Actually it's a quote from Casino, a 1995 Scorsese movie, where De Niro is talking about Pesci's gangster character Nicky Santoro. Highly underrated flick. But yes, the two speeches are kind of similar

It would be the first, and possibly only, Star Wars movie that had The Rolling Stones "Gimmie Shelter" in it.

It would feature dialogue like this:

    "Hey, how you doin'?"
    "Hey!"
    "You do that thing?"
    "What?"
"That thing? The thing we were gonna do."
    "Yeah."
    "You did it?"
    "Yeah, yeah."
    "No bull****."
    "Don't worry, I did it."
"Because if you bull**** me, so help me god..."
    "Relax. I did it."
    "Alright."
    (A few drinks later)
"So, I hear this yutz has got some goomba Jedi on his team."
"Yeah, but don't worry about him."
    "Well, I heard somethin'."
    "What?"
    "Just somethin'. You know."
    "Somethin' good or somethin' bad?"
"Just somethin'. People talk. I listen."
    "What'd you hear?"
"Just somethin'. Nothin'. That Jedi guy, somebody says he could ruin the whole Power Converter thing we got."
"Hey, hey! Keep it down, will ya?"
    "I was just sayin'..."
    "Yeah."
    "Anyway, what're we gonna do?"
    "Nothin'."
    "Nothin'?"
    "That's right, nothin'."
    "But them power converters..."
"I got it all sewn up. I got a guy..."
    "What guy?"
    "A guy."
    "What guy???"
"A guy? Jesus Christ, you don't trust me?"
"No, I trust you. I just don't know if I trust some ****ing guy."
    "He's good. He's a good guy."
    "He'd better be."
    "He's good."

It would be awesome if it was a movie about the SW crime syndicates.

There's more than one way to make a good Star Wars movie, you know.
