Right, and I was just saying that if it was intentional the odds of the proposal going over well should hopefully be lower.

Get into the Oscars and when one of the winners for best actor comes up to stage, upstage him and run up and ask your gf to marry you on live TV. Of course she will either accept and bail you out or leave you to rot and die of embarrassment.

 

Pop the question over Skype while she's at Wal-Mart.

 

While holding up the person when they're throwing up in the toilet. And you've got some of their vomit down your shirt and pants.

In a weird way I think that's actually kind of romantic, because it's like you're saying "You're at your worst right now but I don't care. I still want you to be in my life for the rest of my life, and I'll help you in any situation." But that's my interpretation. Would never do it meself.

As for the most unromantic way to propose, I don't think there's anything quite as simple and dark as doing it while threatening them at gunpoint (or threatening their immediate death in some manner). Maybe kill their family immediately beforehand. If you're a fraidy-cat you can just fake all of it.

Maybe not the most romantic in real life, but it would be a laugh riot on a sitcom or a crackfic.

 

Drive-by ring proposal. Drive by the person's house, roll down the window, get out a T-shirt gun, shoot the box with the ring through the person's window, drive away.

Least romantic proposal was mine way back when. It was more like "i'm tired of fighting. you win" and tossing the ring to her.

 

"Hey baby, wanna honeymoon in Tora Bora?"

"Will you marry me so my parents will stop asking me if I'm gay."

Ring boxes are so unoriginal. Call a plumber over to fix the sink. When he arrives and you've managed to secure placement, call your girlfriend into the kitchen. You may or may not need your plumber to be in on this.

 

According to my om this was essentially how my parents became engaged. They had been together for awhile and they were visiting my mom's family and eventually the discussion went to them getting married, and during that they decided they would get married.
