No way I'm going to the john. Regular bladder-exercises in the week leading up to the release should do the trick. And I'm not above adult diapers either. :)

That is always my intention, I just forget to stick to it. I think the last movie I saw in theaters was Furious 7 and I had to go. Although I wasn't too broken up about that... haha

I'm not too worried about that. I can just fill in the gaps with the second viewing later that day.

If Star Wars is really that good then I will go to repeated viewings. I usually just go again with friends who have not seen the movie. For example, I got roped into seeing Guardians of the Galaxy 5 times in theaters this way. Thankfully the first few times weren't on my own dime.

No we are definitely not the only snack smugglers. Inflation of snacks are crazy!

My own record is less impressive, but I still swell with pride about it (literally).

A tupperware container of Thanksgiving leftovers in one jacket pocket, and an insulated mini-cooler with ice cream in the other. In the summer.

Here in the UK we generally don't get checked for snacks, and I'm lucky enough to be able to openly bring in whole bags of goodies into my local cinema. Sometimes they'll even say "that looks nice" or something. Thank god, because I would never dream of buying food at the cinema. £4 for a small popcorn!

I occasionally get a drink for longer movies, but I detest snacking in the cinema, I really really dislike it. There's nothing worse than wanting to enjoy and immerse oneself in a good movie and being surrounded by smacking, slurping and sucking. Well, unless it's one of those more ...mature..cinemas.

Anyway, that's probably the only thing that would cause me to get up and leave the cinema - if I were surrounded by asinine asshats reeking of popcorn fat, loudly munching or slurping or taking pics with their phones.

Totally agree, and welcome padewan Miffy!

I have experienced some had sex in the cinema, a couple of rows behind me ( would have been more fun, if they were in front!), and this was during the Edge of Tomorrow, the Tom Cruise film...hmmm. But sure was annoying. Also remember this woman, in front of my seat, she was not very tall or anything, but she had really long hair which she in a freakish way, waved to each side every damn 10 seconds. Like she had spasms or....anyway! I would not eat anything during Star Wars, i can eat all the time i want, but not in the cinema. If you have to eat. Keep it quite...please..

@ Miffy and Othini I unwrap and open my smuggled goods before the lights go down for trailers. My snacks are usually done about 20mins into the film. I try to eat quietly as possible. Some people are loud when they eat snacks and I dislike constant noise from wrappers and plastic crunching during the movie too. I hate phones being used in the theater! That is number one on my don't do list. If you are not in a occupation involves saving lives that require you to have your phone on, I don't want to see your screen on. These young people instagramming/texting in the middle of a flick drives me nuts! People talking during the film is bad too but I find the phone being used is guaranteed these days. There is always one person. So If I have someone disturbing the Star Wars movie I will walk out get a manager to remove the person disturbing the movie, quick! I will politely ask for a free ticket to watch the movie again. That would be the only reason I walk out of TFA before it ends. Opening night I feel confident that the hardcore fans won't do that.

So true, so true. I will become totally nazi next time someone instagramming during the movie. I have no problems however with people eating popcorn in a discreet way. But sure...its expensive!

Well I smuggle in dried fruit (mostly dates and figs) into the movie theater. I also bring our refillable cup that I buy every year (unsweetened ice tea or we are being bad, diet coke) so I don't think you need to be a Theater Nazi with us! :D

My biggest pet peeve is parents bringing their little kids to adult movies. Drives me bonkers. I remember a few years ago we went to go see "Skyfall" and there was this family in front of us who brought their like 3 year old daughter to it. She was crying within 10 minutes of it and I don't blame her. That is not a movie for little children particularly on a massive I-Max screen. One of the ushers came up and asked them to take her outside which the dad did and I don't think they will ever came back. Lesson learned I hope. My wife and I never bring our kids to the movie theater unless it's to take them to a kid's movie. Our boys are only four therefore we only plan on taking them to go see a few kids movie this year particularly the Minions movie since they are both Minions nuts....which as my wife loves to tell everyone, they take after their father LOL! And no, I do not plan on taking them to go see TFA. This already looks way too intense for them even though they absolutely love Star Wars Rebels and I have showed them TPM (have to admit, it's the most kid friendly of the series) which again they loved but not this. At least not right away. And if I did (which I really see at all that I would), I would take them a few weeks after it's released during a weekday afternoon. If they freak out just the tiniest bit, I will immediately escort them out of the theater no questions asked even if it means wasting a few bucks.

    Sorry about the rant LOL!

Worst example of parents bringing kids that are too young for the movie was when I watched the first Harry Potter...I don't remember how old I was, but the rows in front were filled with, I kid you not, 5-6 year old screaming kids. For a THREE HOUR MOVIE. Half of them were asleep after the 2nd hour, the other half was crying and wailing to get out of the cinema because guess what, an dude with an evil mutant head under his turban is scary as hell for a 5 year old.....so stupid.

As much as I don`t want to whine on about it, the lightasber flying through space would be devastating. It will be a shame if we get a "nuke the fridge" moment right in the opening shot, especially if the rest of the movie turns out to be great. Really hope it`s not true, but it`s hard to argue against words written black on white:

I'm with you on that one. Having the opening crawl and the Star Wars theme swell to a lightsaber floating in space like the Minions from Despicable Me would make me attempt my first movie theater head-desk. Same goes for having a lightsaber keep a code like that capsule at the beginning of Bourne Identity. It's stuff like that that's soured me on MSW. The movie they're describing is NOT a movie I want to see. Seriously, HAN DYING? There's a reason Lucas threw out that idea decades ago: it smells.

Shouldn't that sour you on JJ Abrams rather than MSW? Shooting the messenger always seemed like an odd impulse to me.

That's what's got me so confused. JJ is NOTORIOUS for keeping EVERYTHING secret. The Star Trek reboot is almost as famous for revealing nothing beforehand as it is for the movie itself. Now I'm suddenly supposed to believe that he has an open door policy for call sheets and plot points being put on the internet? I would think a new Star Wars movie, especially with the Big Three returning, would get at least the same treatment as Trek. On top of the fact that Disney spent 6 BILLION dollars to get this ball rolling. If Disney wanted this amount of detail out, I would expect more of an Age of Ultron style media blitz. Or am I just completely out of touch?
