ST What would get you so mad that you would walk out of Episode VII?

Somehow I think Jar Jar being a villain in the movie would make lots of others walk out.

 

Count me in.

Hell, if the movie took such a direction, I would not walk out either. I would stay so that I can throw popcorn at the screen and laugh loudly and then cry....

 

As for there being so many things that would make me walk out, all the demands that are made in the baddie thread must be driving me crazy.

 

If I get wind of a "FrankenMaul" or a "Night of the Living Palpatine" (or whatever insane rumor tries to resurrect a D.E.A.D. badguy), I may not even go. I doubt Abrams would ever consider that.

I thought it was a manner of speaking type question. Nothing will get me to actually walk out.

 

If the opening scroll doesnt come up ill probably yell, "go get f@€ed" loudly in the cinema then walk out at the end credits

 

That simply doesn't make sense to me. How would introducing a new main character that isn't a Skywalker or Solo be "spitting on the earlier films"? And, if your demands are met, how many fans would be crying about how Ep. VII should have moved in new directions and that focusing exclusively on Skywalkers and Solos is unoriginal?

I really respect Abrams, Kennedy, Kasden, et al for giving this a shot and I hope that they don't pay attention to forums and comment sections - the amount of scorn and hate that will be spewed over this movie would make me want to leave the film industry. Every time anything is announced/leaked/speculated, there's inevitably a number of people who find it necessary to express their hatred or anger about a movie that they have never seen.

And, realistically, there is nothing that would make me leave this movie early. It would take something utterly ridiculous - Han being a Sith Lord, Marvel characters making an appearance, Star Wars referencing our reality (planet Earth), etc. I don't see that happening.

Luke did not kill the Empire nor did he defeat Imperial Fascism. He killed the leader of the Empire. I would think that there were a number of Imperial leaders who were happy to fill the leadership vacuum caused by the deaths of the Emperor and Vader. In my opinion, the most important point of Jedi (in light of the saga) is the defeat of the Sith, not the collapse of the Empire.

 

Also Vader's / Anakin's redemption, Luke resisting the temptation of the dark side.

 

Yeah, you're right, of course. What I should have said was "the most important point as it related to the Empire..."

 

If the Empire wasn't defeated from the events in ROTJ because it was too big, then what would cause it to ever be defeated at all?

It's like Freddie, Jason, or Michael....the Empire keeps coming back until the entire thing becomes a mockery of itself.

This may not cause anyone to walk out. However, after a short while, it certainly may keep people from walking in.

 

Have the Empire be smaller then.

 

The Empire can never be destroyed. The Empire is a belief, a philosophy.

 

I always thought of the Empire as Palpatine`s personal creation, one that should have perished along with him.
The Sith is a philosophy, the Empire is not.

 

The empire still being around would piss me off (And they are since the stormtroopers helmets design has leaked). The rumored Vader/Leia flashback and and blatant ties to Rebels.
