I would not walk out, but I would want my money back if the movie ends up nothing like we were told it would be. I understand a bit of misdirection is necessary for keeping things from being too spoiled, but I don't buy a ticket and hope I get a good movie. I trust the marketing to be honest enough that I won't be lied to completely. Rian said to avoid everything including the trailer if you don't want to be spoiled, so to me that means anything from the trailer to the release is about the real story and that's what I'm paying to see.

If the camera pans down to a planets surface after the intro, only to reveal the complete SW cast in a two hour long musical. I would leave of course, but not before obliterating the film projector.

It's a sequel, yet a standalone. It's different and shocking. It's about light and dark and the lines blurring. It's about family.

Daisy mentioned it in the BTS vid. It's a sequel but you don't need to have it continue. Rian left no cliffhanger. It just ends.

Well, by the time you get to see his name, John Williams is playing the end credits music.

I would NEVER walk out on a SW movie, but I WILL walk outside and tell anyone in the line for the next showing------------------heck this is Empire 2.0----that is my worst fear. I hope it does not happen. Keep in mind with time difference I get to see it before the USA. Sorry guys.....

If you need to bring in time zones to beat the US you'll be late to the game. Quite a few countries get to see it on the 13:th.

That is the case that some countries will get to watch it on the 13th--but it still means I get to watch before normal ticket holders in the US.(And for the record it's not about BEATING the US)

You're in luck then if you want what's in the trailers, because the word is that you will get exactly that. Two and a half hours of Rey fighting a rock, Kylo Ren smashing his hats up and Luke wandering around with his hood up looking completely bewildered. Oh and a porg, who is the new captain of the millennium falcon.

Movies are about escapism. You watch movies to pull yourself in that world. I do NOT want any type of negative politics involved as metaphors in star wars. i will walk out.

Rian already said he wouldn't do that. He understands that not every audience member has the same political views. Good on him.

Movies are about what the filmmakers want them to be about. I personally watch movies for insights that inform my life in general. It's fine to approach things differently, but your preference is your own.

Agreed. Art is inherently political after all. At the end of the day, intended or not, Rian's personality (and this includes political views) will inform the film. Lucas put so much of his political views into SW and never relented with that.
