What do you think the OT characters would be up to?

Luke would be taking over the JC, as Grand Master.
Leia would probably be a Jedi/Senator.
Han would be a General?
Chewbacca the same as Han.
Artoo and Threepio doing the usual.
Lando as a Senator for Cloud City.

 

I like Luke being involved in rebuilding the Jedi away from the politics of Coruscant. However, I think circumstances will draw him back. I think Han will be bored, retired and itching for one more adventure. Leia will likely be a former supreme chancellor, but still involved in politics. Chewbacca will be hanging around, willing to accompany Han on an adventure. I would not be surprised to see Lando as supreme chancellor. The droids will be doing the usual thing.

Retired. I mean, it's a REALLY long time, specially if they are going with the actual time that past between movies as a time buffer.

I'm 32 and I am looking to retire at 60 right now (with how my IRA and 401k are setup). If all goes well, that will happen. I believe Luke and Leia were 28, and Han was 30, so that would put them into retirement+ age.

With that being said:

Luke : Ridin solo, trying to keep the balance and follow leads for any dark-side/light-side activity and disturbances, keep a watchful eye on fam members.
Leia: Retired Queen/Senator; enjoying her later days with Han.; Bothered by Luke's worrying/constant monitoring of their fam members; Still coming to terms with Father's decisions/Finding out who her mother was.
Han: Same as Leia, but I am sure running a side biz with Chewie and Lando to keep tabs on the underworld activity.
Lando: Retired; Ladies man, many children and offspring that now run a huge Bespin Gas Work Biz/Underground Smuggling Biz for old/retired Empire weaponry.
Chewbacca: Historian/Smarty Pants (I can picture him with glasses and reading books.) That would be hilariously great, being he loved playing chess.
R2-D2/C3PO: Chillin out with the Solos, dying for an adventure (which is outside of their programming and "crazy for them to think like that")

 

Luke: Grand Master of the Jedi Order (or the Yoda of the NJO)
Leia: Former Head of State/Senator, Mother, Grandmother, and Jedi Master/member of the Council
Han: Former Alliance General, special non-Jedi member of the Jedi Order
Lando: Wealthy businessman, friend of the Jedi Order
Chewbaccca: deceased but still loved and remembered for the good friend and gallant hero he was
Artoo and Threepio: Standard stuff ala the previous trilogies
Jaina Solo: Jedi Master/member of the Jedi council
Allana Djo-Solo: Jedi Apprentice (to Jaina Solo)/Chume'da of the Hapes Consortium

Luke will be living in a hut on Tatooine watching over the New Hope -- a younglin named Smelly the Hutt who is strong in the force.
Leia and Han will be chillaxing on the beaches of Raxus Prime.
Chewie will be bodyguarding the Solo kids.
Lando will be Senator of Bespin and running the Cloud City Casinos on the side.

My sources tell me that the major plot is that the Solo twins get into trouble when they discover that mean old Mr. Snapperpotts has been mysteriously burying stuff in his backyard on Corellia. The Solo twins accidentally discover this. Also, there's been a strange spat of disappearing pets in the neighborhood and now it's up to the Solo twins to investigate the nefarious plot in --
