I have a big problem.I am currently taking culinary arts and next week I start the actual kitchen classes tomorrow. However,I have culinary bootcamp tomorrow and we have to report to the site with our uniforms and knives.I have the knives, but not the uniforms.I ordered them on December 14th and they still not have arrived. In fact,I was just charged for them last Friday. What would you if this happened to you?

Email whoever is in charge and tell them. Go to class anyways. Smack anyone in the face who questions your authority.

Have proof that they were ordered when they were and show proof of when it came out of your account. But dress as close to what they would expect. If that means a dress shirt then so be it. Sacrifice something to keep you on the good side of the teacher. Or check in your area for an uniform store. They may have a simple chef's coat that you can buy.

ignore the hat, its for dress up. The simple fact is if you are prepared with a statement and dressed as professionally as possible your teacher will appreciate that. Plus, no long hair or have it tied in a bun.

I would ask total strangers on a message board who likely have no good advice at all for advice about my situation.

Steal someone else's uniform utilizing the skills of a ninja. If you don't have the skills of a ninja, buy an invisibility cloak.

Some people on these boards undervalue a little professionalism and hard work. They think it makes you look desperate. Truth be told, you may eventually get a job with a lack of hard work but when it comes time to can somebody guess who gets fired first. A little professionalism can open doors and keep your job when it comes time to lay people off. Most importantly be a team player especially in today's market. You end up getting better jobs by being a team player and being professional. Your coworker that you worked with that was happy to have you around my let you in a job offer in another location because you earned it.

You had better pray to god that Gordon Ramsay isn't in charge of your bootcamp.

I was actually going to suggest mugging another student of the same size before class, but then I remembered that they would be armed with knives as well.

Do you study in a Tardis or are you trapped in some sort of hellish time vortex...? Don't worry, your uniforms will arrive yesterday...

If your friends with any of your fellow classmates, see if they somehow have an extra uniform you can borrow until the one you purchased arrives.
