What would you say are the BEST / WORST lines in the OT?

Best: "Mos Eisley space port. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."

Worst: "But I wanted to pick up some power converters"

 

BEST: Anything Palpatine says in ROTJ, especially "Everything that has transpired has done so according to MY design."

Worst: "Only a master of evil, Darth."

The fact that he calls Vader 'Darth' really grates on my nerves.

 

BEST: Any Line of the Emperor !
Worst: Nooo (Vader says Luke the truth and he responds.)

 

BEST: Palpatine:- "Now witness the awesome firepower of this fully armed and operational Battle Station!"

I love the way that he emphasises the words in italics, just to rub salt in Luke's wounds. He's fooled them all...again!

WORST: In response to "I love you..."
"I know."

Arrrrgh! That's got to be one of the worst lines ever!

 

best- "she's fast enough for you old, man."

worst- "could you tell luke, is that who you could tell??!"

i picked that one as worst because right now i can't think of a really bad one. that line also bothers me because he has this whiny tone about it, hahaha

 

Best: everything the great Palpatine says! Especially the whole "You want this, don't you..." speech!

Worst: VADER ~ "Heee will come to Meee?"

 

Best ANH:

Darth Vader-"I find your lack of faith disturbing."

Worst ROTJ:

Mon Mothma-Her entire dialogue.

 

Best: It's really hard for me to pick. Which is odd because usually with movies I love, there's a single line in there that just strikes a chord with me beyond all others. But not with SW. With SW it's the themes that strike a chord, not the lines. That, and there's so many good random lines in each. But if I had to pick one, it'd be (for now anyway) 'Luminous beings are we! Not this... crude matter.'
But I also like the exchange of: 'I don't... I don't beleive it!'
'That... is why you fail.'

WORST: It's not the line, but the delivery. 'Oh it's Han!' Up until then, Mar's deliveries 'reguardless of what you think of his acting talents) were fairly decent. This one... He sounds so enfemminate.

LUKE: 'Oh it's Han! He's being such a silly! He's just...' *whimper* 'He makes me so mad!'

LEIA: Spill it girlfriend!

 

I don't know if I can pinpoint or name all of them but to choose some;

BEST: "The force is with you young Skywalker...but you are not a jedi yet."
I also like;
"Who's the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?"

WORST: "No, that's not true...that's impossible."

 

BEST; Palpatine: I wonder if your feelings on this matter are clear Lord Vader?

 

BEST: Vader in RotJ, "There is no conflict" (I've always loved that line)


WORST: Luke in RotJ, "Jabba," (right before he does the last chance, free us or die.)

 

My favorite pieces of dialog in the OT are just about anything that Han and Leia say to each other in the ESB. One that comes to mind:

Han: "No time to discuss this with the committee."

Leia: "I am not a committee!"

if I had to pick a best line though, it would always have to be:

Obi-Wan: "Remember, the Force will be with you...always."

I can't think of much bad dialogue. I fell in love with the OT when I was a kid, so my friends and I used to quote everything. Looking back on it, it is all fairly corny and cheesy, but now that is part of the reason I still love it.

If I had to pick a worst, it would have to be:

Red Leader: "You'll do alright."

from the reinserted scene in the hangar at the end of ANH:SE. What a motivator!

We can list line after line of great dialouge from the classic trilogy, but it would take a while to come up with hardly any memorable lines from TPM or AOTC.

A death mark means someone's out to kill you, not that you're already dead. It makes perfect sense and is a great line.

 

another favorite line of mine is

"Yes, your highnessness." - Han, ESB

 

Oh, another good one is:

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?
WELL, I'M NOT GOING THAT WAY...IT'S MUCH TOO ROCKY!

 

BEST:
Han Solo: "Sometimes I amaze even myself."

WORST:
Ewok: "Yub Yub."


General Dodonna doesn't talk about death marks, it's Rieekan.

 

Best: "I am a Jedi, like my father before me"

Worst: "scruffy looking nerf herder!"

I agree. The change Lucas made is terrible and the new line is the worst of the entire saga (maybe along with Leia's conversation with Wicket). Bring my shuttle is brilliant but I have to say the greatest line is "No, I am your father". Nothing beats that.
