He now appears in the "how marketing alone isn't what gives minor Star Wars characters their cult status" seminars offered by Gary Kurtz and Ahmed Best...

Thanks Guff, i take it your boring sense of humor is a hit at parties?

"He now appears in the "how marketing alone isn't what gives minor Star Wars characters their cult status" seminars offered by Gary Kurtz and Ahmed Best..."

Im not referring to cult status and since this is in the literature forum of the EU i thought it would be obvious that i was asking what happened to Ric Ollie in the Expanded Universe but i guess i was assuming too much.

The simple truth is, nothing happened - because no-one's developed the character further.

He got a little backstory in an online short story at starwars.com (I think it was written to tie in with the Starfighter computer game), and a little more in the New Essential Guide to Characters, but that's it - nothing after TPM... which is a shame, because he's a good actor (Wayne's World) and the character had some potential (as did Bravo Squadron generally)...

The fact that they've failed to take off is, I think, an indictment of the Prequels...

Either an indictment of the prequels or the imcompetency of the Royal Security Forces at the Battle of Naboo. I dunno about you but pay deductions would be given out if a little boy could accidentally do the job my co-workers had a hard time doing.

But other than that, thanks. I read up on him on the EU page on StarWars.com a long time ago but i was searching for any new adventures from him that've come up during any of the Clone Wars stories and apparently there isnt any :(.

This would be about the time someone brings up K'Krukh's hat, right?

Maybe dude tried it on, and it was too powerful for him.

Ah, Ric Olie, I love this guy.

When my friends and I gather to wath the prequels we have fun replacing every line of Ric's with "Oh ****!" Try it - like 80% of his dialogue can be replaced with that phrase using different intonations.

Panaka's fun as well, you can replace 80% of his dialogue with the fouler version of "We're farked!" to great effect.

Good that he got a NEGTC entry. Like Stargate Atlantis, it's great to see nobody background characters in the spotlight, right?

Better than a 1200 year old Durge, who looks like Shredder, regens, wisecracks sarcastic repartee like half of all SW characters, and is so overbuffed as to rival Greevy's onscreen comical performance.
