What're the best Uglies?

The worst have to be Tie-wings. tie cannons and manuverability and the Y wing's speed? Ha! Anyways, what're the best? Death seeds?

TIE ball cockpit with three dagger halves from a Interceptor placed equidistant around the cockpit looking like a bird of prey clutching the cockpit in one of it's claws. Ion cannos, laser cannons, and I believe concussion missile launchers. Shielded I believe.

As for the best, depends. Most uglies are worthless because they incorporate the worst qualities of the fighters their cobbled together from. And some are bad because their design is all wrong. But occasionally you get a good design. The Twi'lek Death Seed is an excellent example of a good design. But it's difficult for me to say what the best Ugly may be as there may be an Ugly design we haven't seen yet that will be even better than the good designs we've seen so far. Or their may be an excellent Ugly design already out that I haven't seen.

 

There's one with an X-Wing fuselage and TIE Interceptor wings that's halfway decent... it's at least better than the TIE-Wings.

And technically, Zsinj's Raptors are sort of an Ugly design. It's just sticking halves of regular TIE "wings" onto a ball cockpit to make it look like an X.

Though, I guess the general consensus is that the Death Seed is the best known ugly.

 

thanx for the mental picture... erm... the X-Tie thing was crappy cause you'd have to replace a torpedeo bay with a laser, and one laser cannon alone won't fire fast, etc. etc.
I'd combine the body of a B-wing to the wings of two TIE Defender wings... That's rock I think.

This Deathraven from the Starships of the Galaxy sourcebook could be considered an ugly, no ? An expensive and very effective ugly, but an ugly nevertheless...

Well, technically if it was designed by the original creators of the b-wing, as there new ship design. based on previous designs it wouldn't be an ugly. But if it was made from 2 b-wings by an unofficial tech, yes it would be an ugly.

 

Okay... I didn't know it was from the ones who did the B-Wings... I don't own SOTG yet...

 

No, I actually don't know, but I was giving you 2 possible outcomes.

It could be official or it could be an ugly.

Also if b-wing creators liscensed out fighter technology to another market level designer, it wouldn't technically be an ugly. This would be like how ATI liscensed out video cards to nintendo for the gamecube.

Or how invidia licensed out video cards to microsith for there x-box.

So I guess until we know the facts behind whatever that ship all we know is that it may or may not be an ugly.

But if you think about it, Mon cals were uglies. Just on a bigger scale. They a took a liner and put guns, shields, and amor on it, by the Mon cal government for the first years. Am I not correct?

Crows are black scavenger birds, specialising in ''carrion''. Sometimes known to descend in droves (Well, flocks.) upon farmyard animals & activley pick them clean.
