Somewhere in Cestus Deception, Kit Fisto and Obi-Wan are sorting through legal documents, and Kit says that they'd "need a wizard to sort through all this".

So what exactly is a wizard in the GFFA?

I would think that a Jedi would be a wizard since they use what appears to regular mortals as "magic", but apparently they're not the same...

Matt/Raven/Gandolf/Gandalf is the perfect specimen to ansnwer that!

Seriously, just an expression, when Banai says to Anakin, "This is so wizard!"

On planets or within cultures where the force is not fully understood, i'd imagine force-users are called "wizards".

Therefore, the term is probably as ingrained in GFFA popular culture as it is in ours.

Or it could be that "wizard" really is the word for a magic-user, not typically in reference to the Jedi. Althtough all the magic we've ever seen in SW is the Force, come to think of it; even that witch in that Ewok movie was retconned into being a Nightsister, no?

    Wizards are more properly "Wizard-class magic-users" or Wizard-class Force-users.

i wonder if the inclusion of "Wizard" in TPM is supposed to be some sort of reference to WotC.. ;P

Okay, this is fairly simple, as far as I'm concerned. A wizard in the GFFA is the same thing as a wizard in the real world. That is, a man who uses magic. Simply, not everyone knows that the force exists, and the tradtional way to explain something that is not understood is to assume it was supernatural. Hence, magic.
