Was way too long a post Welshguy lmao ... my fingers started and I couldn't stop them

It sure did bring out people's passionate side lol.

I have something to say about PCness in UK though - I bet a lot of people would expect it NOT to happen so much in the US, but the group of friends I have over there were saying that they got the same PC-in' as we do
eg like no Chrimbo decorations in places which share faiths.

Remember when England played in the World Cup and people were warned not to have the English flag on display? Now that is LUNACY, and not in the good Brit way :(

well, i can't disagree with any of the arguements above (apart from hal's seemingly un-noticed joke theft).

My town is degenerating into an ugly chav/trendy/hooligan saturday night warzone....me and and few friends are planning a year in tenerrife soon to get away....but, the people i've met along the way are total gems. this country does have many a problem; no poisonous creatures roaming all over the place, no life threatening natural disasters, free health care....blah blah....blah....blah.

And lets not just generalise to people of a certain country being crap-thats just racism that is!

but to say we have no summer? now? last summer-and the summer before in fact were global-warmingtastic!

    To whoever said the British are a rude race of people;

LONDONer's are a rude race of people - i hate londoners.
Manchester is just as bad, but how dare anyone judge for everyone.

You should see where i live, i enter the bakery and have chats with total strangers and the employees, everyone is friendly here. talk to people like * clicks* that!

Plus ( to whoever hasnt been to the lakes), i urge you to visit the lakes... beautiful :D

Well, first of all I'd like to apologize for any disagreements
or offences that happened. Was not what I wanted.
Like Yoshee said. I like to keep it freindly. :)

Anyways, I'm really impressed by a lot of your replys.
A lot of you really put some thought into this. So thanks.
I understand that there would be negitives about the place
just like there are everywhere else. But ah well, I like
to look past the negitives(I don't ignore them but just don't
concentrate on them). I think in general 'life is good'
and goodness can be found anywhere. Its just maybe harder to
see sometimes. I don't really know though. I'm just a college kid. lol

The art, history, culture, and beauty of the land is what I'm
most interested in. I think England for these reasons would
be a cool place to visit. The "proximity to Europe" is good too.
I just love to travel. The world really has many wonderful sights.
Though I actually have never even been to NYC yet. lol.

And yes, I think all the castles would be fun to see. lol
Though we do have one up here in North NY. On a heart shaped
    island of all places.

    Pete

Did you know that there are more castles in Wales per square mile, than anywhere else in the world?

Just thought I would share that with you. :)

    Nah, I didn't know that.

Don't know a lot about Wales, now that I think about it.

Talking of longbows, visit Nottingham home of Robin Hood and a crap footie team that wear red (as opposed to the more classy and successful team that wear black and white) :)

I love living in England. Sure, we have the worst press in the world (I'm looking at you Daily Mirror), Fathers4Justice, The Royal Family, too much political correctness, Townies, Chavs, yobs and Jocks (Scottish and sport liking kind).
However, we have beautiful cities (Bath and York for example), great history, beautiful countryside, great beer (stuff the Germans), good looking women and great humour. What more can you want?

I'm always amazed that its such a popular nation and so many people want to move here.

There isn't exactly that much to do.
But the people are nice enough :D
